Despite its large size, this pastry mat provides plenty of space for working with pie crust. For pies and pizza dough, the scale has measurements so you can determine whether or not the circle you rolled out was large enough. This silicon material is tacky enough to stay in place on your counters, but doesn't actually adhere to them. If I wash it in the sink and then hang it up to dry, it is easy to wipe it down. This keeps it from developing a fold when stored rolled. For anyone who wants a clean, flat surface to work with pastry dough, this mat is highly recommended.
