While I wasn't aware that pushing too hard would damage the metal cookie cutter, I used a plastic cookie cutter without any issues. I have used a metal cookie cutter once, which was fine, but I was mindful not to push too hard.
The answer is yes, it is widely used by I wouldn't think it would be sold for food preparation if it was toxic.

The fact is that this is clearly a dud product among OXO's many! In my experience, it was bad for rolling out pastry. Even with chilled pastry that was well floured and the product also well floured, the pastry still stuck. My only option was to use a pastry knife to remove it. It sticks to my plain counter top worse than the other things, which I find completely useless, because the product is worse than useless to me. Despite its popularity, silicon is not the greatest invention ever It's all over and done with All of them for non-commercial use Ads work well with it but I can't tell if it sticks or not. You should still use those good old fashioned pastry cloths! They work much.
My ball of dough had to be cut in half with a knife on the mat, and I had to purchase a second pasty There is a cut in the middle of the mat from one of the cuts. Identify my mistake and learn from it. Apart from that, I am in love with I use the dishwasher when I clean dishes by hand, so it's a little cumbersome to clean. If you have a dishwasher, I'm sure you'll find it a lot easier.
I have never used silpats so I had no way of comparing them, but for cutout cookies, these are excellent. Clean up is no problem since it doesn't stick and minimizes spreading. There is one small issue, and the reason I did not give this product a 5 star rating is the size. I have 1/2 sheet Nordicware cookie pans, and this mat is a bit too wide to fit flush in the bottom of them. The cooke pan might be the problem, and the potatoes would work better in a tray of another brand. In any case, they are a major improvement from parchment paper. Some recipes still spread more than I'd like even when I used parchment paper. So far I have had no problems with my new shoes,.
I found that the OXO did a better job of sticking to the table, but I had trouble working with food (of course, this would depend on the surface material of the table) and it was pretty difficult OXO's Super Kitchen mat is a bit thinner than the Folksy Super Kitchen mat and there could be some difficulty handling it in general, but I think its performance outweighs that. Thus far I have dealt mostly with bread dough on it, so that is the only aspect I can truly discuss. Even so, considering how sticky the dough can be, it does well for the time being.
Its large size and strong grip make it a great mat for indoor use. There are also additional charts and measurements. Thin, but it adheres very well to the counter top, so it is not an issue. In my picture, the mat is still in place after completing the task of rolling out the pie crust. It takes no time at all to clean up.
My old board for making pastries became difficult to clean and I decided to buy the mat to replace it. I used a very small amount of flour on the OXO Good Grips Silicone Pastry Mat to prevent my dough from sticking. Taking into account that I rolled out a long and narrow dough, the size was perfect. This is a good board to use because it is easier to clean and takes up less space than my old board. Also, the mat stays in place while using the board.
By using this mat, I was hoping to save on parchment paper, etc. But in fact, juices run to the back of the mat and make a mess, which I did not intend to create. There is a yellow stain left on the mat after a few uses. So I got back to my aluminium foil. It keeps me from having to clean since I can just roll up and throw it away.
It does exactly what I needed. In addition to making bread and pastry, I also use it to make pasta. I use it to keep everything from sticking to the While it is stored, it does not take up much space. The feel of the game is fantastic. I like the way it was I do not feel as if it is Clean up is very easy with it.
