This is the mat that I have. It works well as a pastry mat. It has a good thickness and does not wrinkle when rolled up. It will meet your expectations. I've had mine for about six months and it works perfectly with bread dough made with olive oil rather than flour. Nothing adheres to the surface. Rock

This, I'm sure, does not make it un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un-un- Although it is usable, the video shows it rolled up in a long tube. Mine came in a flat box about a quarter of the size of the mat. The mat has a permanent crease down the middle and some rippling as a result of being folded in fourths. When it arrived, I immediately took it out of the box and rolled it up, hoping that the creases would disappear. It was rolled up for a few weeks after I bought it, and today is the first time I've needed to use it. It's still creased and rippled, as you can see in the photos. It should not be stored flat, according to the package's care instructions. So why was it folded in fourths and flattened before being shipped?.
I despise having to deal with a mess of flour when rolling out pastry or cookie dough, so I was thrilled to see that even the stickiest dough could be easily removed. That was something I really wanted to believe, but it wasn't the case. I rolled out pastry crust the first time I used the mat, and it got so stuck that I had to scrape it off and start over. The only way to get the crust off the mat easily was to sprinkle a lot of flour on it; the same thing happened with cookie dough. The mat does not slip and washes well, which is about the only thing I can say in its favor. I'm going to use a pastry cloth as long as I have to roll out dough and pastry with flour.

This was bought to replace the one that had been lost. It's more convenient to use, and nothing gets stuck on it! This mat has already been used to make pizza crust, bread, and two apple pies. The size and the guides appeal to me. It is not as slick as my previous mat. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to clean it, but I believe wiping it down with soapy water and then rinsing/wiping it with a sponge or cloth while it's flat is the most efficient method. The other option is to wash it in the sink. After that, dry it by rolling it in a dishtowel. I like how it folds up and has a band to keep it closed when not in use - A clean rubber band will suffice if you misplace it. When I'm rolling a stickier dough, I still dust it with flour, but I don't have any sticking issues. LOVE IT!.
The markings are in inches, not centimeters, and the weight is heavy. I roll mine up with a parchment paper liner and secure it with a Velcro band. I've discovered that wiping my table with a damp cloth prior to unrolling the mat helps to prevent any slippage. I've only used it to roll out dough, not to line baking sheets. It's a nice big, empty work surface for working with dough at these dimensions. The majority of the surface can be cleaned by dragging it with a pastry scrapper. It's so big that I'm not sure how it'd fit in a dishwasher, even though it's dishwasher safe. After soaking it in hot soapy water and blotting it dry with a dish towel, I draped mine over a strainer to dry.
It's much larger, and the material is unique. . . in a good way. I'm guessing it's made of silicone and fiberglass? Nothing sticks to it in any case, so it's even better than my old one! It's a good size mat for when I want to bake something. br>br> I placed it on my granite countertop, which is nice and flat for rolling out dough. But, out of habit, I still add a smidgeon of flour. My previous mat was too small for rolling out pizza dough properly, but this one is ideal because it's nonstick and has markings to help you keep things uniform and even. This item is fantastic!! It won't slide around on the counter, and it's simple to clean and store. The precision of the measurements is outstanding! It's no longer necessary to use a kitchen tape measure. There isn't a single aspect of it that I dislike! My grandson is currently attempting to purchase a home, and I intend to purchase one of these mats for him once he does. This is a must-try for any baker.
It had a great look and feel to it, which I really liked. I remember my Mom's old one, which was made of nylon plastic, and how much better this new one is. I'd love to give her one of these as well if she were still here. br>This mat isn't flimsy, but it's also not paper thin. It's thicker and appears to be well-made, and it grips the counter well enough that I won't have to chase it around while using it. I'm excited to put it to use as soon as possible. Unless you have a little flour underneath the sticky bisquit dough, it will stick to it. 👍.
