English words that contain the plural form are referred to as plural forms. This is why you should not be misled. There is ONE 2mm mat in this package. In my case, I bought this to dry dishes in a hotel quarantine. It holds up well to its task, which for me is to keep clean dishes off of potentially dirty surfaces (who knows if they had As I do not have any hot pads here, it's also nice to be able to place hot things directly on them. Having used hot bowls and cups, this hasn't left any burn marks, so it must be heat-resistant. This item is reasonably thick (as advertised), which means that I do not have to worry about it potentially tearing while washing or moving. It is probably something I will use for non-commercial purposes In the event that I was out of quarantine, I would use the mat in my microwave at home.

However, I would never use it in an oven or as a serving platter. My first experience with this product was that when I opened it, it smelt like chemicals, and I found that anything I placed upside down on it (like a bowl or mug) had the same unpleasant smell when I flipped them over to use them. I would never put my food on something that initially had such a strong chemical odor. After a week or so, the smell subsided, but I wouldn't put food on anything that initially smelled so strongly. When we use the microwave we will place this on the other side of the burner so I can clean it up quickly with less spillage. If we use one burner I will leave the other side covered so I can clean it up more quickly. I could fit it under the air fryer because it was just wide enough. I was able to cut it in half with it being so long. The other friend also has an air fryer, so I gave it to him. Nothing needs to be done to it since it lays flat. Buying this was a great decision.

There is a smooth and quite thick texture to the material. Rather than being folded, this arrives rolled up in a box. There was a slight curl to it, but as soon as I laid it down, it disappeared. There is quite a bit of thickness to it. Currently it is used for a desk mat, but I may buy another one to use for a counter top mat in the kitchen.
