You can do that, but these liners are usually just used for making bread on counters or on the bottoms of baking pans. As far as I know, I have not used this method. You should be able to gain an advantage from it!

It is very convenient for us to have this in the house, since we cook a lot. So that I can reuse it, I bought this to reduce the use of plastic.
