When baked, this Madeleine mold holds 1 cup of raw batter

You should be aware, when you see that it says, "9 cup capacity", that does not mean 9 cups. This means that there are 9 cavities in the pan for baking. This was lost in translation. It holds about 2/3 cup of batter in each cavity when it is filled about two thirds to the top. There's a big difference in actual capacity between the 1 cup it claims and the 9 it actually has. There is no intent to mislead the buyer, as far as I can tell. During the translation from Chinese into English, I think the meanings are muddled up. It is large enough to hold just over a tablespoon of batter in each cavity. A slightly different baked madeleine shape for those who would like to bake them deeper. The design is pleasing to the eye. In addition to making beautiful non-traditional dishes, it is also very appealing. This is how Madeleines are traditionally made. A pan that is easy to clean. The dishwashing machine is safe to use. If you do not know Chinese, all the information and directions are in Chinese, so you are on your own unless you can read it. It can be used without instructions, which is a great thing.

I've been browsing through it and I'm quite pleased. My kitchen and baking supplies have been greatly enhanced by this purchase.

Madeleine pan that is not traditional in shape, more versatile

You can see and sample traditional madeleines toward the top left hand corner of the photo. Pans with this shape make cakes that look like the one you see in the picture. Madeleine pans commonly made from cast-iron are not traditional, but this one produced very nice crisp and soft madeleines regardless. The result is more like a cake rather than a cookie since the pan has larger cavities than traditional cookie cutters. In addition to muffins and brownies, it also makes great cookies. In all, it is a great pan to own. The shape is very pleasing and it bakes perfectly. This is the first thing I wash It might be possible to wear the nonstick finish off during dishwasher use. With the nonstick surface as it is, cakes slide right out of the pan.
