The day has been saved! My approach was to use marshmallows to make fondant from scratch in order to make sure it It was a waste of time! I spent almost two hours there After 3 hours of frustration, I gave up

Getting it off was a nightmare it was sticky as hell, tore easily, and was a huge mess. It had been a dream to work with Wilton fondant and I'm so glad I had purchased it as a stand-by. The fabric was easy to roll, draped beautifully, and looked great. an added bonus, the taste was the same as (or even better than) marshmallow fondant (because I didn't like the chalky taste from the starch added to confectionery Wilton, thank you for your kind words! image below, the blue part is marshmallow (see how it tore and looks uneven? the rest.
