Questions & Answers
Taking the time to answer your question has taken me a little bit longer than expected. It was an early present from my Aunt, who decorates cakes, of a pair of 9" round Wilton Performance Pans in 2011. It wasn't what she wanted, since they were tapered. In my more extensive research, I discovered round Wilton Decorator Preferred pans with straight walls that are 9" in diameter. It would be great if you had the Decorator Preferred package. Are you looking for a specific size? The 9" size seems to have been discontinued by Wilton.
I was disappointed in the weight of these pans as well as the gauge. As far as anodizing goes, I would not recommend it. It would not be a good idea to recommend this. chose Wilton over what I originally was going to buy at WalMart because I thought their product was better. It's not like that at all.
There is quite a bit of a slant in these, but your cake shouldn't show too much of it
Thank you but it can only be used in the oven on the stove

Layer cakes are not made for this cake. When I ordered these 9" round pans, I assumed the sides would be This is not the case. A slight slope extends outward from them. It is only two inches in height on both sides. There are sloped sides to this layer cake, which makes it a very odd shape. It was my first time attempting a layer cake, so I thought sloped side cake pans were made for round cake pans. There was a mistake on my part. *If you are looking for a form with vertical sides, Nordic Ware Classic offers perfectly vertical sides and is 2 1/2" in height. This product was just as described and worked perfectly for my three-year-old The cake is made up of layers. There's no way to return Wilson pans the day they were purchased. Their size and shape will make them perfect.
It is very nice to have a pan that is both thick and durable. It requires heavy greasing and flouring of the cakes in order to keep them It is not advisable to spray the pans with oil. It turns out the pans are starting to show stains from repeated use that a normal scouring pad and strong dishwashing liquid cannot It was to be expected that Wilton brand pans would deliver more. Though I paid a little more for the brand, even though they do make beautiful cakes, I have had cheap pans do just as well without needing to be pampered. They're strong and durable, but if I had it to do over again, I would have gone for something cheaper that would have delivered just as good as, if not more, quality baking.
to be pretty good at baking, and I admit I have had a few disasters from time to time, but I gave these pans three chances on three separate Despite the fact that they came out each time This just doesn't make sense to me how pans can have such an impact on baking. My initial thought was that it could have been the leavening I was using since it was a little past the expiration date, but even with newly purchased baking powder, the results were the same. I'll move on to the next section.
It took me longer to bake a cake than it should have. The knife didn't leave any marks on the cake when I stuck it in. The problem was I wasn't aware that the cake was wet until after I had taken it out of the pan. In order to get the bottom of the cake fully cooked, I had to put the cooled down cake back in the oven and bake it for longer than normal. After the rest of the cake was cooked, the rest of the cake was iced. A strange aftertaste followed the cake as well. I thought maybe I was the only one experiencing this. In the 2 days after I made the first cake, I had the same problems a wet bottom cake and that weird, almost metallic flavor. I threw away the whole cake. Another cake I baked in the dark pans I got from Walmart didn't have any I also didn't want the label to come off.
It would have been better if I had read the reviews. In the dishwasher, don't put anything. Now that they have been used twice, I am finished with them. This sink is light weight, easy to use, and cleans up easily in warm water and soap the first time. It was easy to clean, however. In the absence of a clear description stating it isn't dishwasher friendly- My husband threw them in, and this is what he got. I don't know what I should have done next time to prevent this from happening again.
For two reasons, I'm kind of disappointed. 2) The cake pan looked different than regular cake pans right away. I showed you in my photograph that the base gets narrower as it climbs, while the top gets wider. Due to the fact that I have to bake it tonight, I will not be able to return these since I bought them for a Thanksgiving cheesecake. It also has scratches along the edges, as if it has been used already. Looks a little worn out. Also, for all you people complaining that it doesn't have a warning not to put it in the dishwasher, please refer to the third picture where the stick-on instructions clearly state the care and use of the gadget.
It's a nice addition to my bakeware collection to have a set of 9" cake pans. All labels easily came off and were thoroughly cleaned, there was no glue residue to be found. In addition to using parchment paper for my cake pans, I also line the bottoms with it, and the cakes come out easily. My cake's sides do not appear straight because they have a slight taper on the top and bottom, but the sides are straight enough for a wedding.
There is an error in my writing. It was Sterling's review that lead me to purchase them. A cake must be baked in pans with straight sides so the edges can be decorated. The sides of the pans do not meet straight if they nest inside one another. The straight sides can only be obtained by using Wilton DECORATOR PREFERRED baking pans. If a WILTON pan was best for cake decorating, you would think it automatically would be. My research has revealed that Magic Line's pans always come with straight sides, are not much more expensive (considering that you keep cake pans for 10 to 20 years), and are of higher quality than those made by Fat Daddio's or by Wilton.
