About 3 1/2 inches.
About 3 inches, I'd say.
These could hold a shower rod and curtain (and liner) with long enough screws (the ones included might not be long enough). They would, however, have to be attached within a few inches of the rod. I believe that mounting the brackets to the ceiling will not adequately support the curtain, as the bracket will only support a portion of the rod. You could use wire or strong twine to secure the rod to the brackets.

These are great, but they're a lot bigger and stick out a lot more than I anticipated. I've bought others and assumed there was only one size, but that was my fault for not reading the instructions. These would work well with a larger window and heavier curtains, but you'd have to buy more for the middle support. Also, if you use blackout curtains in the bedroom, light will filter in from the sides.
Regrettably, the dimensions listed in the description do not match what I received. They're not usable, but we couldn't find anything in a nearby hardware store because of Covid. I'm not sure how much longer I can keep reordering- Because I can't trust the descriptions unless I see it in person, I've added this line.
Brackets were nowhere to be found! I came across these on here by chance and am so glad I ordered them. They do stick out a little more than most, but that's not a problem for me. I ordered the warm gold color, which is more of an antique brass/copper color, but I adore them! I would strongly suggest it.
Two years ago, the brackets that came with a set of curtain rods I installed broke. I wanted to keep them because they were an unusual design that was no longer available. These brackets were purchased to replace the ones that had been damaged. They're well-made and get the job done. They came with longer screws than the ones they were replacing, which I like. Please keep in mind that each order is for two brackets. I ordered two and received four brackets, which was fortunate because I needed three rather than two!.
Without being able to customize, the price was lower than what I saw in a brick and mortar store. Exactly what I needed - For my application, I was able to select the appropriate finish and the appropriate distance from the wall. Material is heavy-duty and has a specific finish.
They come with everything you need in the box, including the little plastic things for drywall screws. It made me very happy.
They are a single piece that is solid and unmovable. They're well-made, attractive, and have a substantial weight to them. When compared to the extendable ones, these are much more durable. br>br>Because I had to install my shade on the outside of the window frame, my curtains were too close to the shade, but these are PERFECT and extend my curtains past the cellular shade. Excellent name!.
They also keep my curtains at a good distance from the wall, allowing them to slide easily. The bronze color is also an exact match for the rod I had.
