With the help of two brackets, I've extended this rod above the glass doors to 108 inches. It has been running smoothly for the past six months. I use 12 pound blackout drapes.
Three brackets were used in this example.
STEP 1: Place the brackets against the wall where you want them. Make a mark for the screw holes and make sure the marks are level across the entire opening. br>STEP 2: PROCEED TO THE SECOND STEP. Drill a 1/8" pilot hole at the marks if screwing into dry wall. br>STEP 3: COMPLETE THE INSTRUCTIONS. Determine the bracket's projection. Loosen the projection screw and slide the bracket to the desired length before tightening the projection screw. For each bracket, repeat the process. br>STEP 4: COMPLETE THE INSTRUCTIONS. Assemble the rod and drape the drapery treatment over it. Step 5: Attach the finials to the rod, making sure they are aligned.br>STEP 6: To get the desired width, extend the rod. Into the brackets, place the drapery rod. br>STEP 6: COMPLETE THE INSTRUCTIONS. To prevent the rod from moving, tighten the screws that hold each section in place.
Sure, you can do it, but I'm not sure it'll hold up to the elements.

The finials at the end are lovely and add just the right amount of design to our room. For our sliding back door, we intend to purchase the longer ones.
Easy to put together, with a simple but elegant design.
We have wood blinds, and I needed a bracket to adjust our pass blind, so I bought these. I was astounded by the rod's excellent quality. The grey was the first to come to mind. Another room went black when we were remodeling. I wish I'd known before I hung the curtains in my living room and master bedroom. The diameter of these rods is greater. To open and close the curtains, they simply glide over them. These were also ordered by our daughter-in-law when she needed new curtains. This is the brand I'll be replacing my living room rod with because it's simple to install and works with any grommet size. It's impossible to praise these highly enough.
I'm happy with what I got. The price is for a pair of shoes. Installation was simple and the quality was excellent. Thank you very much!.
It's simple to put together and it looks great.
My living room furniture is dark brown and bronze, and the finials blend in beautifully and even appear to be dark bronze. I have a long wall of windows (3 windows), so I needed two sets of these rods to get the length I needed. br>br>I placed an order for one hundred-piece set. 144, followed by a 36-piece set. Please read the entire description for all of the rod sizes (thickness)! The 100- The 144 set includes three rods: two 1" rods (one open end, one with a hole for finials) and one 5/8 rod (both sides are open, no finials can be screwed into either end). br>br>The 36-year-old br>br> I made sure to read the description because I needed to add a rod to the 100-piece set, which came with two rods—one that is 1" (open end and finial end) and one that is 5/8 (open end and finial end). I needed 144 to get the length I wanted, which was 162. br>br>The larger rods have a hole in the end into which the finial screws. I had to remove the end (which came out easily with a screw driver, then I bent the little lip of the rod outward with pliers to open it up even more), then insert the small rod from the other set because the 36-inch rod was too short. The small rod on the 72nd set has a hole in it for the finial to be screwed into. As a result, my 162-foot-long rod now has finials. large- small- large- small- finial. I wish the seller had sold the various rod sizes separately so that people who needed longer rods than 144 could piece them together. So, if you need more than 144 characters, you can get them! All you have to do is buy several sets of rods, remove the finials, and piece them together. I didn't use the brackets that came with it. NONO brackets, which are available on Amazon, were used. The brackets do not require any wall mounting. They simply clip onto the vertical blind bar at the top. I didn't want to ruin my freshly painted walls by screwing anything in. br>br>The rods are holding up well, and I'm using them to hang linen curtains. There is no sagging of the rods. There is no sagging even when all four rods are combined and the total length is 162 inches. Rods with a lot of heft to them.
Great looking curtain rod that is simple to put together and supports even the heaviest of curtains.
Curtain rod with a lot of style. We bought this to replace a flimsy one that kept breaking; you wouldn't think that the reliability of a curtain rod would make such a difference, but it does when you open and close the curtains on a daily basis!.
