Gold is a beautiful color!
It takes up quite a bit of space on the base plates. This book stand holds up binders and spiral bound books well, but tends to tilt or bend forward when loading. It will probably do even better with hardcover
Fixing them to a shelf is not possible. The books are simply positioned on the base, and the books are held up by the base. There is no doubt that these are great. A great quality product with a nice weight to it.

It's nice to see bookends with a unique look. But one of the bookends was damaged and I was very disappointed. The book damage is small, it is located where it will be covered by the books, so I am not returning it. My intention was to use them to hold up my recipe books, and they have been doing a superb job. This is my first purchase from this company, and I'm happy with the outcome. Their arrival was prompt and their packaging was good.
It's so nice to have bookends like these! It was important to me to have a simple design for my new bookshelf - not too busy. I have been using these for years! My bookshelf will look amazing with these! Such an elegant pair of glasses. This pair would be awesome as a gift, but I won't share them.
