I've had them for a couple of months. Upon receipt, I discovered that the box had some rust on it (which other reviews warned me about), so I waited to write my own review until I could see if it had rusted further. There are not many dents on it and the rust adds to its character and creates a vintage look. Apparently it should come off if you rub it with coconut oil, but I have not bothered to test it. They have a lot of heft to them, and that's what I like most about them. It may seem unreasonable that it would be so hard to find bookends heavy enough to hold up books, but it seems the majority available are merely ornamental and not functional. Now that I have this tool in hand, I am able to display several hardcover up on its own. You do not need a bookshelf and it will not fall.
Throughout my life, I have had bookends that just didn't have the weight to stay up and frequent fell down. It's a beautifully designed set of bookends that has lots of weight, is interesting to look at, and is They are very pleasing to not only the eye but also to the touch. My purchase was well worth the price I paid. I found mine to be rust-free, as some other reviewers had complained. They are working perfectly for holding up a collection of signed paperbacks that I have from indie authors, so I can't speak to how well they will work with a number of hardcovers, but for the task that I am using them for, they are perfect. This is a highly recommended book!.
The quality of this product is excellent for the price you pay. This similar desk at pottery barn (of the same quality) would sell for at least 139 dollars. The desk is extremely heavy, so you don't have to worry about it sliding or falling over when you put a lot of books inside. Not only are they heavy, but they are also stunningly colored and made.

This set is RUSTIC Looking - A metal object in a brownish-red color made from heavy metal I like the black color with the rustic looking edges- It was given the appearance of being old. I think this set is perfect for our rustic-inspired home I love the look of this shelf, and the books stand up just right on top since it's so heavy! Five out of five stars.
The "rust" detailing is extremely visible. The picture of the front page leaves a lot to be desired. While I don't mind it, I think it adds character to the piece.
