It is a very mild paint in comparison to oil-based ones. A natural oil, it is edible. We oiled our antique heart pine floors with it, blending it with a little natural turpintine (from pine trees) in the first coat so it would absorb better into the old, dry wood. My olfactory senses tell me it smells wonderful. There is no smell at all in sort time. A little stain is also blended in sometimes to tint it a bit and allow it to darken over time, as most wood does.

Fraudulent ads were placed in the original advertisement. Having read the page, I thought that I would receive 4 gals for the approximate price. This is the local Home Depot price for one gallon. Two lots of four were ordered for a deck I was designing, so I had to pay twice as much for shipping. It turned out to be two gallons rather than the eight I had anticipated As the result of contacting the vendor about this, I received an apology and was informed that the ad was the fault of the vendor. Then I tested it on a pistol holster, and it is now soft and looks new. I also tested it on work boots, and the result is the same.

Love this stuff when I use it to treat my deck as well as all the stair wood and wood steps outside. It smells great and does a great job of keeping my deck free of splinters. I will buy this again and it represents great value for money as well.

This is a great item for anyone doing a restoration of a gun - You may use raw Linseed oil for your woodwork/stocks, but make sure to know if you are using boiled Linseed oil or raw Linseed oil because the effects will be very different. Make sure you check the ingredients in this product as well to ensure you are not getting a bad product like this mixed with hardeners,.
