Questions & Answers

I flushed one down the toilet by accident, and the toilet no longer fully empties. Is there anything I can do to dissolve it in less than 45 days?

When the Iron OUT tablet comes into contact with water, it usually starts to break down and dissolve. The dissolved tablet should be flushed through the plumbing lines on a regular basis.

What is the total number of tablets in this three-pack?

It certainly appears to be perplexing. Everywhere else, this product costs half as much. I'm also curious as to why there are three three packs when the price is so much higher.

I've been using blue tablets in the tank with bleach, but it doesn't seem to be removing the iron. How much time should you wait between bleach tablets?

Chemicals and Iron OUT should not be mixed. As a result, before using any Iron OUT product in the toilet bowl or tank, we recommend removing any other chemicals from the toilet, cleaning the bowl, and flushing the toilet several times to ensure the chemical is not present.

Our well water is acidic, and our pipes are copper. Our water turns green everything it comes in contact with. Is this going to get rid of our toilet's green water ring?

Thank you for your interest in the Iron OUT Automatic Toilet Bowl Cleaner from Summit Brands. Because Iron OUT is specifically formulated to remove rust staining caused by iron in the water, it will not effectively remove green copper-based stains. For up to 45 days, Iron OUT toilet tablets repel rust with each flush and prevent iron-based stains from forming in the toilet bowl.

In just two weeks, I was able to completely clean my tank
5/5

When the hard water stains returned to the bowl almost immediately, I was disappointed. I made the decision to take off the tank cover. I was SHOOKETH when I saw what was going on inside. Water with a high mineral content Inside the tank, rust marks are a fraction of what they once were. Inside, it's back to being white. I emptied the tank, cleaned it, and am now purchasing more drop-ins in the hopes that the first ones simply had to work their way through all of the garbage, and that now that the tank is clean, the stains from the bowl will be removed. br>br>In my house, there are three toilets. Because I only had two tabs, I was able to conduct a perfectly controlled experiment. Here's one untreated control toilet (trust me when I say this was the best-looking toilet in my house, which is why I didn't try the drop-in on it). Then there was one toilet that needed to be treated for two weeks. Finally, there's the toilet, which was disinfected and cleaned after being treated for two weeks. This wasn't a regular cleaning - it was a thorough cleaning. I drained the tank and scrubbed the sides with an old toothbrush, rinsing away all of the soap. a cup of water to clean the gunk I kept my hands off the tank's bottom. br>br>I'll update my review if my theory that a clean tank equals fewer stains in the bowl proves false.

I'm going to buy more! These were extremely successful
4/5

The iron buildup in my apartment's toilet tank had turned it orange and brown. As a result, streaks appeared on the toilet bowl, making it appear dirty at all times. After seeing them on the internet, I decided to purchase them. I put one in the tank, and when I checked a few days later, the iron had disappeared from the bottom of the bowl, and the sides were lighter. I inserted the second tablet, and a week later, my toilet tank and bowl were clean. Residue was easily removed with a light scrubbing. When I clean the toilet bowl, it now sparkles. One thing to keep in mind is that it stinks when you flush it the first time. I'm guessing it's all the iron and rust leaking from the tank's interior. The smell vanished once that was gone. If you have rust buildup in your toilet tank, I recommend this product. This is something I'll buy again without a doubt.

I couldn't get it to work for me
3/5

Others clearly had success with this product, but I didn't. If I don't use some kind of continuous treatment, I get a horrible orange stain in the bowl. Because it was inexpensive, I decided to give it a try, but it didn't seem to help at all. Other items I've used have proven to be beneficial. I live in the suburbs and have access to high-quality municipal water. My house is old, and the pipes are old as well. Perhaps the chemical makeup of water has something to do with its efficacy. On the plus side, I like how clear the water appears after using this product, and it has no noxious or noticeable odor. It's simple to put into action - Simply pour the contents of the container into the tank.

Mineral staining is removed and prevented with this product
5/5

On the Delaware River, we have a summer house. The bathroom was replaced, and a new toilet was installed. I used a chlorine-based toilet-tank deodorizer. mainly to prevent mold from growing in the tank, which has always been an issue. A shallow 10' water well located about 50' from the river provides water to the house. Within a day, a dark rusty stain appeared on the toilet tank and bowl, which was difficult to remove. It turns out that the chlorine-based tank drop-off isn't as bad as it seems. It was reacting with the iron in the water, causing the bowl to stain. I replaced the chlorine-based drop-in with an IRON OUT toilet tank drop-in. on a tablet According to the instructions on the box, the tablet may take some time to get up and running. approximately a half-hour I returned an hour later with Bar Keepers Friend to clean the mineral stains on the toilet, and the staining had already faded and was almost gone with IRON-ON. OUT, only a light yellowish-brownish-brownish-brownish-brownish-brow The stain is brown. I left it alone for an hour and returned to find the toilet and tank sparkling clean. This summer, I had to replace a tablet that had lasted about 10 weeks. Mold, mildew, and mold could not grow in the tank because of the IRON OUT. My sons and sisters, as well as their families, use the house as a seasonal retreat on the river that we own. When it came to the mineral staining in the toilet, I was mostly concerned about the ick factor. I know a water softener would work, but that would be yet another item to winterize, so I bought some more IRON-X. OUT has become my go-to word.

Prayers answered with a no-scrub solution! Because my water is hard, if I don't clean regularly, my toilet will develop those lovely orange water stains
5/5

They were extremely bad, and I attempted to remove them with a pumice stick. CLR was used, and it was found to be beneficial. Even after a lot of stone scrubbing, some orange remained. br>I'm going to stick one in the back of my toilet. most likely within 1 Rust was completely removed after only 2 weeks! without the use of any extra manpower I couldn't believe it! br>I'm still forgetting to replace it, but I'm starting to see the rust stains appear, but once I do, it'll be crystal white toilet bowel all over again! br>I now have to clean mildew under the lip of the bowl on occasion, but this treats and prevents rust stains from recurring. br>It's also extremely inexpensive! buy it. do it. You are going to be overjoyed.

I'm sure I've got a lot of stains on my clothes
3/5

In my house, I need to replace some old pipes. The pipes in the front yard sprinklers were twisted and corroded when we pulled them out. My home's pipes are leaking in the same way. As a result, the rust on the underside of my toilet bowels tends to stain. Nothing else has worked to remove the rust deposits beneath the toilet's rim. So, as a last-ditch effort before replacing the toilet, I decided to try this product. So far, the first tablet has kept rust from forming in the bowel as it usually does, as well as lightened some of the rust under the toilet rim. It hasn't completely dissolved the rust beneath the rim, but the first tablet has another 25 days left. Then I inserted the second tablet that I had purchased. If this is supposed to remove rust with just one tablet, I'd have to say that's not going to happen in my case. Even so, as I previously stated, there are some advantages to using the product. Just know that I'm still having problems with one of my toilets, despite the fact that I recently replaced the second toilet in my house. We'll see if the Iron Out can handle the rust under the rim and the remaining toilet.
