No, if you're referring to a standard recliner like one you might find in your living room; this back rest is secured to the chair with adjustable straps that go around the back of the chair, as shown in the photo. I can't see this cushion working on an upholstered recliner, but you can buy it anyway and return it if it doesn't meet your expectations. I hope you find this information useful.

This cushion was purchased for the driver's seat of my vehicle. br>The thickness is much closer to what I need for proper lumbar support, as opposed to the previous cushion I had, which was way too thick and left too little contact with my head/shoulders to the rest of the seat to truly be effective. ( Granted, it's thinner than many, but I could have gone even a little less, depending on your original seat and adjustability of that as well. )br>The Material was a good foam consistency that seemed supportive while offering enough give. br>The ease of use of the straps to attach it to the seat is my biggest CRITICISM for this product, and the reason for the majority of the one star deduction. The clasps are difficult to operate or reach in confined spaces (such as a car or when your arms are restrained in an office chair) while maintaining a tight non-slip grip. The elastic straps allow for a sliding fit. I can only imagine how tedious this would be if I had drivers who despised it and had to take it off frequently, but luckily for me, this has not been the case. (This could be a big deal if you share your vehicle with others. )br>I'll give a minor thumbs up to the fact that they have receiving clasps in both directions, so you can attach the straps in the opposite (perpendicular) direction for your specific seat configuration. br>Aside from that, I like that it's not just black, but it would have been nice if it came in a color that matched the paint or interior of my car. (I'm not sure if I'm asking too much on that one. ).
This back support cushion works better for me than any other back support cushion I've tried, especially in my wheelchair (I use a basic manual wheelchair part-time). It is very comfortable and provides just the right amount of support.
I like it because it gives me extra support when I'm sitting at my desk for long periods of time.
Flaws The following is a copy of my original 4-star review. My most recent purchase was added on December 3, 2021. They corrected all of the flaws. It's now perfect. br>br>The pillow is perfect, but the strap fasteners are about as bad as they can get. It's hard to comprehend how a company could get so much right in one area but so much wrong in another. It appears that there has been an overabundance of information. Because there are loops at the top and bottom where the straps could be removed and attached, they simply made them more likely to fall off on their own. Still, if you can get past that, the pillow itself is exactly what you're looking for. It is vastly superior to other low-cost options, and I mean vastly superior. Pillows for back support Despite the strap issue, I'm going to order two more for the car and office chair.
Some back cushions are too curved for my liking, but this one was ideal. It appears to be well constructed, and I appreciate the fact that the straps are detachable, adjustable, and have hooks on both sides. It's extremely comfortable, and it's a significant improvement over my previous chair.
I read all of the reviews on back support cushions at all price points and decided that this was the one for me. It works perfectly, and there is no longer any back pain. I was able to easily maneuver the straps around the braces in the back of my chair, and I was able to easily move the cushion up and down to the correct position. It's a fantastic deal, and it's also quite attractive.
I work at a desk all day and this is one of the best and most comfortable back supports I've ever tried (and I've tried a lot!). I would strongly advise anyone who, like me, spends long periods of time at a desk to read this book. What a blessing in my life!.
The cushion is exactly as described, thin enough to avoid back overarching but comfortable enough to allow me to sit in wood chairs. I've been in pretty constant pain for years after a bad spinal fracture that wasn't diagnosed correctly until it was too late to fix surgically, and I couldn't sit in anything but upholstered chairs until I found this cushion. This allows me to use some of the chairs I own again.
