I don't know how they fit a toothpaste in there because I bought it for my son and he had a regular crest or Colgate toothpaste and it didn't fit, it's not even full, so I had to take it out and replace it with his toothbrush. It's possible that it'll only fit certain toothbrush sizes, which they should specify. Not like a toothpaste and an electric toothbrush for kids.
So cute! My two boys' toothbrushes are quite thick, but they fit perfectly. They have a thick, hard plastic tube of toothpaste that won't fit with their toothbrushes, but I'm pretty sure a regular tube would.
This item was purchased to serve as a pencil holder for my son's shark-themed room's desk. I couldn't find anything else. I would have preferred glass or even harder plastic, but if you're installing it in a child's bathroom, it's nice not to have to worry about it breaking. However, the mouth was misshapen when I received it due to the soft plastic. I tried to mold it, but it just ended up being filled and facing the wall. It wasn't the best quality, and it wasn't quite tall enough for what I needed it for.
The whale and shark were both purchased by me. The opening of a whale is smaller than that of a shark. The toothpaste tube (I have Toms children's toothpaste) will not fit in the whale's opening, but it will fit in the shark's. Perhaps a different toothpaste brand will do the trick. But I wish the sharks' opening was the same.
It has a convenient drainage hole for easy cleaning and plenty of room for my son's toothbrush and paste. I'm not sure what size toothpaste the rest of the reviewers use, but ours fits perfectly.
We gave each of my children a toothbrush holder for Christmas (we had just moved into a new house and they now had their own bathroom). The unicorn is a tad on the small side, but it serves its purpose for the time being. It does not appear to be a long-term solution. The shark is the ideal size and has a much more durable feel to it.
I debated whether or not to buy it because it was so pricey, but I'm glad I did. The mouth opening is very large, and the plastic is solid, so it keeps its shape. The kid gave it his blessing.
For Christmas, I bought this adorable hippopotamus for my daughter to keep her toothbrush in. It appears to be extremely long-lasting and cleanable. Every year for Christmas, she gets something hippo-related, so I'm sure this will be a welcome addition to her hippo collection.
