As far as effectiveness goes, the tines on the end look to be sufficient. The jury is still out regarding the durability of the telescopic handle (hence, I only gave it 4 stars for durability), but over all it seems to be a good buy. It's convenient that they are sold as a pair so that at work I can keep one and at home I can keep the other.
