There is no screw type of thread, but a ribbed thread instead. During that time, I replaced the wood handle with a driftwood branch that filled in the gap left by my split wooden handle.
My understanding is that beneath the shiny coat is a duller metal, and I am not sure if it will take effect

Let me tell you what I can This is an awesome brainteaser! This back scratcher is longer than most other back scratchers, so you can effectively scratch those hard-to-reach back itch spots. Metal is also superior to wood for the making of hands. It lasted 24 years before I accidentally broke it. I had another one that had a wood handle (not painted), and a brass hand, and it lasted 24 years before I broke it. The current one will last me just as long (or even longer if it does not break). There will never be another back scratcher in your life.
This is why I got rid of mine. It might be worth visiting if you can. My problem is that it is either too long, or you cannot bend it because it is too tight. To date, the most effective method has been to scratch the cheap curved wooden back. In any case, I shall continue searching. The other issue I have with this particular back scratcher is that the metal hand keeps coming undone. The update for December 2017 is as follows This is the only back scratcher that I have kept. I have tried many back scratchers and I have never found one that I really like. I kept this one since I am lowering my rating from three to two stars due to the tendency for the metal hand to come loose. So much so that I will throw it away. I am sorry for your loss. The only way I could have prevented this from falling off was to have made it a little longer and curved so that one more glue would hold it in place. Then it gets thrown out.
What a fantastic idea I used it to scratch all parts of my back, and my German Shepherd enjoyed it when I scratched his chest with it. I have not broken it after dropping it a couple times, it scratches extremely well, and it is long enough to scratch any part of my back without too much effort. Try one out and you'll be glad you did!.
For the price, it is not gold plated, but for its size and price, it's a good buy. Therefore, I will review this item after using it and updating this review if it does not meet my expectations. Tuesday, September 21.
For the second location, I purchased a new one to avoid carrying my old one back and forth as well as having it take up space. After being in use for so long, the old one was smoothly worn. As it is a bit sharper, the amount of pressure needed to get relief from itch is a LOT lower!.
Basically, it looks great but the scratcher has a lot of problems too small and the curve needs to be adjusted. My mom and I had a bunch of really cheap wood ones that we sanded so they would work as scratching pens. However, I too am not happy with the hand. The scratcher is too smooth, notice that not all the fingers make contact. There is also a very small area of contact, which IMO is too small, which means the scratcher won't work.
You can scratch all the places where you think you cannot reach with this great back scratcher.
When I searched several stores that sell back scratchers, I decided to check on Amazon since most of them are poorly made or their prices are outrageous. After a quick assembly, the product meets all of the expectations that were outlined in the description. It comes in two pieces, but the metal scratcher screws into the other part. It came in a sturdy box and met all of This is a great.
