I'm a Physical Therapist Assistant, and I use it with all of my patients on a daily basis. It gives me a readout that I can send to my phone via Bluetooth. I have access to my patient's results via email. There are instructions to that effect in the user manual, as well as numerous studies on the efficacy of the information that corresponds to other Masimo Finger Tip Pulse Oximeters (of which I own three), and it recommends that you use the fourth finger, but I have had good results with any finger. Very impressive technology, and if you want a quick reminder of what the values mean, you can tap the screen on your phone. For example, the Perfusion Index tells you how fast your blood is flowing in centimeters per second. The Plethysmographic Index, on the other hand, gives you parameters of 5 and 40 for the ratio of dynamic to static blood flow, indicating whether you have "over-flow." dehydrated yourself either by not drinking enough fluid or exercising the fluids out of your body, or hyrdrated yourself or, as is usually the case, under hydrated yourself. Water intoxication, on the other hand, is a possibility. Another benefit of this technology is that it can be used in a variety of situations.
The short answer is: YES (along with a graph of the average rate over time). br>br>This is a serious operation. I'm hypothyroid in the center. I bought this because I needed something that was extremely accurate and medical-grade for ventillation syndrome (Ondine's curse). I already own a Contech CMS 50F, which is excellent, but I couldn't wear it to work because it was too hot. I was also concerned that the Contech contained some movement artifact, which is why I needed something more precise, as my condition is extremely rare, and the medical community was dismissing me. During my in-person interview, I wore my contech. In February, a sleep study will be conducted in a lab setting. The contech had me desat to 87% and the lab had 85% while awake facebooking. The contech had me desatting to 75% while I was asleep and the lab recorded 74% while I was asleep while I was asleep while I was asleep whi As a result, the Contech is correct to 1% - 2%. So I was able to get the sleep lab to amend their report to confirm central apneas and desatting while awake, which I was able to do. I was desatting and fainting while working on the computer on April 26th, while wearing both the Massimo and the Contech. The Contech recorded 85% of the Masimo reach down to 92%- 93%. I know you have to go below 88% in order to faint, so that is how I know the Masimo is inaccurate and the contech is providing numbers within range. The Masimo runs about 3% too high with little ups and downs, in my opinion. My O2 sat goes up and down like a yo-yo when I have central apneas, whether sleeping or awake. yo and variations by 2010 - 12% in approximately 1 min cycles, as confirmed by the lab as well. The masimo levels would only differentiate by 2%- 3%, but it would show that my breathing rate could range from 5 to 25 breaths per minute. My breathing rate varies greatly in the white graph, but my O2 saturation graph hardly varies, as you can see in the attached photos. Also, despite multiple attempts, the data will not export. As a result, the reporting feature does not function as intended.
MightySat was up and running for about a year and a half. The display grew dimmer and dimmer. It didn't matter if the batteries were new or old. My guess is that the display is powered by a low-power, low-reliability component. Regardless of the root cause, the cost spread out over 24 months is unappealing, and Masimo's accuracy cannot be judged without a reference instrument. Masimo's market share in hospital products does not compensate for its lack of reliability at this price point. At a fraction of the price of the MightySat, get an SpO2 meter with a pulse graphic similar to the MightySat.
I'll never understand why a company spends a lot of money developing a product and then ships it with little or no documentation and no better online information. There appears to be some concern in the reviews about compatibility with Android phones and data manipulation, so here it is. Masimo Personal Health is available for download on Google Play. Turn on Bluetooth by going into the Masimo's menu section. It should be used in conjunction with your phone. When the Masimo is turned on and the app is launched, the data is automatically recorded.
Is the heart rate reading consistent with the KardiaMobile 6-? lead ECG? Yes. br>Can you tell me if the clamp is gentle or not? Yes. br>Are you willing to put it on for the night? Yes and no, there is still some pressure on my finger, which takes some getting used to. When I sleep, I keep the sensor on my finger by wearing a clean sock over my hand. br>Are you looking for something that is simple to clean? Yes. br>Do you have the ability to disable Bluetooth? Yes. br>Is Amazon's accuracy the best? Yes, 10 off reference pulse reading, 6% off reference oxygen saturation reading. The packaging specifies the accuracy. No other Amazon product has the courage. br>When I went to the ER a few days ago, my pulse was taken using a Masimo product. br>Given that their business is professional healthcare to begin with, they have no reason to produce a subpar product. Yes, it's as simple as pairing a wireless headphone with any smart mobile device. br>br> br>br>However, once you have the clamp on your finger, there is no display timeout. If you're going to sleep with it on, invest in some AAA rechargeable batteries and make sure they're fully charged before going to bed. The display isn't flashy, but it gets the job done while consuming the least amount of power possible. br>br>In comparison to other consumer health apps, the Masimo app has a long way to go. It currently serves as an additional display for your sensor and receives statistics from it after being paired with it via Bluetooth. It cannot provide you with statistics of your daily parameters over the course of a day or a month, as apps like Kardia (app for KardiaMobile 6L EKG) can. br>br>Things like keys can easily scratch the display surface. If you carry this device in your pocket with your keys, it will be scratched. However, not to the point where it is unrecognizable.
