Questions & Answers

Is a subscription required for this?

There is no need to sign up for anything.

Is it possible to tell if there are any heart blocks based on this information?

It doesn't seem to detect heart blocks, but it does detect abnormal cardiac arrhythmias. My husband has the iOS app installed on his iPad, and it is very useful. His cardiologist will be able to see it because it is much larger than the iPhone screen. I hope this has been of assistance.

I need to record my heart rate for 24 hours; am I able to do so?

This EMAY Portable ECG Monitor is not one of them. A Holter monitor is required to automatically record your heart rate for a period of 24 hours (or longer).

Is it compatible with the Motorola 4?

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure it works if you have WiFi.

This top- EMAY has rated this portable cardiac monitor as excellent
5/5

I tried out two different portable cardiac monitors before deciding on this one. Here's the review I wrote, which details everything I did and discovered: br>I did some research because I wasn't sure which portable cardiac monitor to get. I discovered a video rating site that ranked this device slightly lower than the competition. The top- EMAY was the one who gave it a rating; KardiaMobile, on the other hand, had some kind of FDA approval (for detecting Atrial Fibrillation), whereas the others I looked at didn't. Because I've had AFib for over 20 years, I figured KardiaMobile would suffice, as it appears to be designed specifically to detect AFib (but not much else). I went ahead and purchased both the KardiaMobile and the EMAY ECG Monitor. I had intended to keep both devices and give one to each of my sons. I discovered that the KardiaMobile I bought is simply a strip with two electrodes that can be used with a cell phone app. It worked fine, but it had no way of displaying, storing, or interpreting the data it collected from your heartbeats. The data had to be received and interpreted by my iPhone app. The EMAY device, on the other hand, could take the data, display it, and save it without the need for a phone. When the cell phone was placed near the EMAY cardiac monitor, it automatically downloaded the stored data, which I could then view, store, and interpret using my cell phone app. The app's algorithms could then detect a variety of heart problems. The EMAY device's heart tracing, in my opinion, was also superior to the KardiaMobile tracing. As a result, I returned the KardiaMobile while keeping the EMAY portable cardiac monitor. I'm thinking about getting the EMAY as well for my sons.

There isn't a lot of useful information here
3/5

All this does is provide you with the first lead of an ECG. And it's not particularly good at it. I've been reading ECGs for nearly 50 years as a physician. I was having some irregular heart beats now that I was retired and didn't have immediate access to a real ECG. So I decided to take a look at what this device had to offer. It does a good job of displaying QRS complexes. However, because it is only lead I, it is not suitable for use in a rhythm strip, which is usually lead II. There were no P waves in my case, indicating a junctional rhythm. The next day, I got a real ECG, which showed P waves, which indicated a sinus rhythm. It might or might not help you figure out what kind of cardiac rhythm you have. This device will not provide information about your heart's condition.

EKG monitor that is simple to use and inexpensive
5/5

With PVC issues and a less-than-ideal ablation response, determining how much legitimate vs. perceived arrhythmia was present was becoming difficult. After looking over the retail options and reading the positive Amazon reviews for this latest generation EMAY recorder, I decided to buy it (albeit with trepidation at first). br>The device is compact and light, with a small window monitor that is easy to see. A real-time EKG rhythm can be easily generated and viewed, with lead I being the most convenient (hold the monitor horizontally between two index fingers, arms resting on table to avoid artifact). Using bluebooth, I was able to connect the monitor to both my Galaxy S10 and Lenovo Yoga notebook. A free app is available in the Google Play store, and the device comes with a thumb drive containing both MAC and PC software that is simple to install. The PC software can also be downloaded from the internet, allowing for the printing of hard copies of recordings if desired. br>Obviously, this is not a replacement for an expensive EKG machine with 12 lead recording capabilities, but if the goal is to detect any cardiac rhythm disturbance (palpitation, APCs/PVCs/atrial fibrillation), this device appears to be a good option at a reasonable price. br>I've only had it for a few days, but I'm hoping it will hold up!.

A review by cardiac nurses
5/5

For many years, I worked as a critical care/intensive care unit nurse and received extensive training in EKG cardiac rhythms. That being said, I bought this monitor because I've been having a lot of palpitations lately and didn't want to go to a cardiologist and get a holter monitor for nothing. So I got this with the understanding that if anything went wrong (vtach), I could go to the doctor. My palpitations only last a few seconds, which isn't enough time to turn on the monitor and get my rhythm. However, that is not the monitor's fault; I also appreciate how simple it is to upload the EKG to my phone; it is quick and simple. br>I find that using the palms of my hands, rather than the wrist or chest, gives me the most accurate readings from the monitor. I can tell what I'm looking at because the rhythm is quite detailed. It might frighten me if I didn't know what I was looking at. If you move, the artifact imitates fatal rhythms, which may frighten those who aren't aware of their surroundings. br>I'm hoping to be able to record my palpitations on this monitor one day so I can figure out if they're just harmless little PACs or if I'm in Vtach or SVT.
