That simplified the field considerably by eliminating the need to measure my stride, figure out how to enter it into the pedometer, and so forth. Second, the pedometers with the most features have the tiniest typefaces and windows. br> I needed to be able to see what it said quickly, so I narrowed the field even further. Third, I don't have a "smart" phone and don't require any of the other "medical" data. This 3dfitbud is the only thing that costs money. I'm just looking for a way to track how far I've walked from one day to the next. Fourth, it has a 10-step hurdle, which means it doesn't count "couch" movement or anything like that. It works for me; It is disliked by some people. Don't believe everything you read in the reviews. It attaches to your pants with a clip and does not detach. This item was something I really wanted to like. I just wanted a simple way to keep track of my steps without having to deal with the hassle of setting up a fancy device or all the extra features that come with it. br>br>From my living room to my kitchen sink, I took 30 steps and counted them. I would estimate that if you ONLY wear this during dedicated walking time and not for the rest of your life that it might be about 75% accurate during% But it is definitely less than 50% accurate if you want to wear it to track your steps during a normal day of activities in a normal day of activities in a normal day of br>br>I wouldn't have been so disappointed if this had been a $10 pedometer. EDIT: Because this has happened several times, I had to take away a star. I'll check my steps halfway through the day, but the screen will be blank. Nothing is going to jolt it out of its stupor. You must keep the reset button pressed. It's extremely inconvenient because I now have no idea how many steps I took that day. It seems to happen once a month or so, with no apparent pattern. br>br>I find this step counter to be extremely accurate, despite some of the negative reviews. I counted 500 steps as soon as I got it, but the step counter only showed 499. Not bad! I believe some of the negative reviews are due to the fact that they are not wearing it tight against their hips and/or are not walking quickly. I keep mine in my pants pocket, with the device inside the pocket against my waist. br>br>Another nice feature of this step counter that I didn't know about before I bought it (but is written in the instructions that come with it) is that it has a "10 Step Error Prevention Feature. " This means that if you take fewer than 10 continuous steps, it will not record them; however, if you take more than 10 continuous steps, it will count all of them, including the first 10.

This is a complete waste of money. It has a nice appearance and is simple to use, but! It's not 57 steps, but it's 20 steps. Nobody knows how such a small piece of equipment can be so WRONG, but do your research. If it doesn't matter to you what you're doing while walking, go ahead; if it does, move on.
