I did not take traditional pills because I did not feel the need for them. Despite the bland flavor, I like it. Following three weeks of taking it, I began to get constipated and stopped taking it. There are about as big as a chewable aspirin, and it reminded me of that, with a slight chalky taste, but it was nice to chew them and they were quite palatable to let dissolve, with a sweet, but slightly chalky taste.

I have been taking 3 tablets faithfully every day for 4 months, then I had my ferritin level checked again and it had not changed. It appears from my conclusion that they are not absorbed, so I have decided to stop taking them and try.

Since I began taking these oral tablets, I have not had black teeth. I have taken iron off and on for years but never had black teeth. If I am unable to swallow them with water or juice, I will take them with water or juice instead of milk (milk or dairy products will not allow you to absorb iron properly or If you brush regularly, the black stain will eventually fade. The past year has been difficult for me due to health issues.
