My kidneys were failing four years ago, my doctor told me. I began to approach this with the mindset of "what have I got to lose?" For about 6 years, liver enzymes were elevated because of fatty liver. For crohn's disease, I take mercaptopurine and Prevachol to keep my cholesterol under control. Both have the ability to change enzymes, but not to the extent that they did in my case. I started taking this in January after reducing the prevachol and mercaptopurine. Since then, both times I've had my levels checked, they've come back normal. I'm truly astounded. I'm not sure what caused it, but I'm not going to give up the milk thistle!.
