Can this item be used in place of a regular toothbrush for hygiene? Does this item use the same batteries as the Z vibe?

In addition to using two triple A batteries, we do not use the vibrator for hygiene purposes since we only have toothettes tips that do not seem to do a good job of cleaning

Kids who do not like to brush their teeth will benefit from this product. ABOUT TWICE ALREADY I have had to replace batteries.
