Having him take this product will help gain back the strength in his arms after upper arm atrophy. When I received it, it was in perfect condition and very easy to assemble. The material appears strong enough for the task at hand. Having a wand that is long enough to fit in his arms is ideal for my husband, who stands at 6'2". It has an adequate diameter and a long, "L"-shaped handle that is easy to grip and long enough to accommodate a larger hand size. The wand is described as "collapsible," which is not exactly You have to disconnect all of the parts to break this down, since all of the pieces are screwed together. As part of my home therapy I was using a wand, as I had had a reverse shoulder replacement surgery. I didn't necessarily purchase this based on the price, but it is certainly a good deal.
