3M Littmann Classic III Monitoring Stethoscope, Gray Tube, 27 inch, 5621

This is by far the best stethoscope I've ever used. As a nurse practitioner, my first stethoscope was a Littmann Classic II, which I adored. Despite the fact that my name was engraved on it, it vanished and was never seen again. I bought the Littmann Lightweight II S as a replacement. , which was a flop for me. Some people seem to enjoy it, but I think I was spoiled by my Classic II's performance. br>After giving the Lightweight a chance, I decided to invest in a Classic II once more, but they were hard to come by (perhaps it's being phased out?). ) and I couldn't find it in the bright color I wanted. I ordered this stethoscope on the advice of a doctor with whom I work, and WOW! The Classic III's acoustic sensitivity has me completely blown away. Without any of the Lightweight S's nonsense about light vs firm pressure, I get the clearest heart, lung, and bowel sounds. br>I never have a problem with auscultation, no matter how much background noise there is. I tested it by listening to my daughter's heart and lungs through her thick robe (which is obviously not how I'd listen to a patient), and it was still crystal clear. br>I ordered the bright yellow to make it stand out, and there has been no color transfer or other issues thus far.

Littmann classic iii is a fake. I had a nagging suspicion that the Littmann Classic III I bought on Amazon from HOCARE was a fake as soon as it arrived, but I didn't have anything to compare it to, so I assumed it was the genuine article. br>When I first started school and compared my Classic III to those of my classmates, I noticed a few minor differences that led me to believe it wasn't the original. br>I called Amazon right away. They were extremely helpful and promptly provided me with a full refund and a replacement (this time purchased from Amazon) within two days. Differences between the real Littmann and the fake Littmann include: br>br>
1. Box:
- The real box has a lustrous sheen and a smooth surface.
- On the fake box, the word Littmann is written in a thicker font than on the real one.
- The real box showed a proper representation of the tube color and chest piece finish color on the side of the box where the product name, number, color, and design are located, whereas the fake box had off looking colors on the side of the box where the product name, number, color, and design are located.
- The real Littmann has a vertical sticker with small Littmann logos on the side of the bar code, which reflects light when the box is turned from side to side. br>- The real and fake boxes have different purples. The real one has a pinker hue. The real one is a darker purple, while the fake is a lighter purple.
- The fake box has black foam on the inside, and the foam around the chest piece isn't a perfect circle (chest piece doesn't fit nicely inside)br>2. Piece for the chest:
- The fake Littmann's seal is more rubbery (like an eraser) and appears to be damaged. Nothing should rub off when rubbing the genuine Littmann seal.
- A dark black should be used for the Littmann logo.
- The letters in the real Littmann's serial number engraved on the chest piece are closer together than in the fake.
3. Tubing:
- The fake one has thicker tubing and is a darker/blueish color.
- The fake Littmann goes over the metal and is wider where the tubing meets the chest piece, whereas the real one narrows down and smoothly meets the metal.
4. Pieces for the earsbr>- The ear pieces on the fake Littmann are more rubbery.
- The fake Littmann's metal tubing is bent at a sharper angle, causing discomfort when worn in the ears (even after a long period of time).

Other Littmann stethoscopes I own are excellent. I decided to take a chance and order one from Amazon, but I'm not sure if it's a knockoff. When compared to other Littmann Classic III stethoscopes, it's clear that this one's auscultation capabilities are severely limited. It's even worse than the $25 backup stethoscope in that I can't hear the heart at all, let alone detect a low-grade murmur or abnormal lung sounds. Because I work full-time and didn't have a day to take the package to the post office, I missed the return window; I would proceed with caution in this purchase. It costs nothing extra to buy a stethoscope from a store where you can try it out and be sure you're getting a good one; I've never had this problem with any other stethoscopes from this brand, so I'm wondering if this one is a knockoff.

By the way, his heart is fantastic: ) I wasn't expecting to hear this so clearly, but I should have expected it given the positive reviews. My boss is the only one with a Littmann, and I can see why she doesn't want to share it. I've used both a Prestige Medical and a low-cost off-the-shelf device to listen. I've been using this stethoscope for three and a half years at this clinic, and I can tell the difference. br>In comparison to other stethoscopes I've used, the ear buds are extremely comfortable, and my ears do not hurt after a few minutes of use. The color is exactly as it appears in the photo. The Caribbean blue was my first choice. Littmann gets five out of five stars. P. br>br>P. br>br>P. br>br>P. I read a lot of reviews that said the packaging for the delivery was terrible. My Littmann arrived in an Amazon box with air packaging, indicating that Amazon has improved this. It's not just a Littmann box that's been taped together. I'm very happy!.

It's a Littmann, that's what it is. I used to have a $15-$20 stethoscope. It was given to me so that I could begin RT school. I noticed I couldn't hear what they were saying in class or in the examples on the internet, so I decided to try the classic because I was still learning and figured I'd upgrade later. My mouth and eyes popped open as soon as I put them on and tested them! The huge disparity between the two and what I could now hear astounded me. Then there was a HUGE grin! It was incredible to hear those sounds for the first time, and in such detail! I'm sure the more expensive ones are even better, but I adore these and am very happy with them for the time being!.
