THE NINETY FOURTH YEAR OF MY LIFE A BLIND, old father would be upset if this got a few feet from him. We are buying for the sixth or seventh time now. As a backup, I always keep a second battery in case the first dies or (god forbid) I can't get a new battery within a day.
As a gift for my triathlete mother who prefers to commute by bicycle rather than by car, I got her this. It was fairly simple to set up. When she goes biking, she finds it hard to check the time because she wants to avoid overly complicated gadgets and she needs reading glasses to see the time. This was a great idea, and has been attached to a chain at her neck so that she can hear the time by pressing a button. She absolutely loves it.
My phone was out, and I didn't want to pull it out just to check the time. The battery is wasted, and there is a greater chance of dropping very expensive phones. The clocks provide clear time information with an alarm that works well. The alarm clock has a snooze option and allows you to set the time in 12 or 24 hour military time. It would have been great if it told the date, but I knew that prior to buying it. It is also my intention to purchase one for a friend who is blind. Hopefully, I will be able to take the chain off and put it on a break - Easy access to the lanyard while on the go.
As old as my Dad is, he is nearly blind, but, like all of us, he wakes up in the middle of the night wondering how long it has been. As someone who cannot see clocks during the day, he has to know the time all the time. This little clock is his favorite and he wears it on a bright colored lanyard (shoelace) all day, and he hangs it on the bedpost at night, so he can hear the time at any time. The player must hold it near his ear to be able to hear and understand the voice, but he doesn't mind this at all. It is clear that the speaker is speaking. A single button in front of him makes it easy for him to use, while the recessed rear setting buttons eliminate the chance that he will reset it by accident. Although the batteries last only about 6 months and can be quite tricky to replace, this clock is a great value.
Due to glaucoma, my dad is losing his ability to see and this talking key chain lets him know the time. It also has an automatic time announcement feature that It was a big hit with my dad.
The pair of glasses I purchased is for my dad, who is suffering from macular degeneration. No longer can he read his watch or clock, nor can he read the time on his phone, but with this little key chain, he can always be sure of the time wherever he goes. All that will happen is that the batteries will die eventually. The smaller one is the smallest, and the larger one is the largest. They are the two small ones I have never come across in a store. Here on Amazon, I hope they are available for sale.

She has a hard time understanding the message, because it's said before the time, and she's confused by the "itis". I'd say this is a problem with her hearing only, but it affects both of us. The good thing about it is that it gives her more confidence.
