Selected User Reviews For Extra Large Talking Button Clock - for The Blind, Elderly or Visually impaired
When it comes to products for those with visual impairments, this clock is worth the money. I am legally blind, and my father is too. There is no longer a watch on the wall or even a clock on the wall. He can hear the time by pushing a (large) button. He can also hear the day and date by pressing another button. People, especially seniors, get disoriented when they don't know what time it is or what day it is. There is no learning curve to operate this clock. I easily hear the voice since it is set at a low volume and is loud enough to be heard. This is a great product. I highly recommend it.
This clock was a present for my mother, who is almost blind and 101 years old. She had been using it heavily for two years before it stopped working. It is no longer possible for her to see a clock or use a talking A clock like this is the perfect present for The British accent of the first one prompted her to call it "George. ". There is a new one with an American accent and she has been calling it "Sam. ". The clock keeps working for years with the same batteries. Occasionally, though, it will cease to function without warning, but removing and returning the same batteries will fix the issue.
It is my mother's macular degeneration and she is 96 years old. It works well for her because it is battery operated. There is no complexity to it. It is clear to her that there are no confusing buttons. A simple button is all you need! It's impossible for her to accidentally hit the wrong button and mess up the program. She can hear her voice, as it is loud enough. The winner is!.
Its size, color, weight, ease of use, and ease of handling make it the best product for my 97-year old mom who is very hard of hearing, nearly blind, has no feeling in her hands (neuropathy), and has significant physical limitations. She carries it with her everywhere in her walker as evidence of her memory issues. The talking watch is not as useful for her as this one.
I've got the perfect way for my 97-year-old dad to express his gratitude. Since he has only peripheral vision, he cannot see a clock face, making the simplicity of the clock so valuable. "Alexa" is a device that provides information to him on the fly. It is unfortunate that the WiFi at his assisted living center is unreliable. As a result, the game changed. A reminder that the 4/26/2020 update is now available Now that the clock is two months old, it's a bit out of date. As a result, my Father grows extremely frustrated with it, since it does not His problem is being investigated by staff at the assisted living facility, but the idea that the batteries are dead is being pushed. The item is picked up by me (I cannot visit due to covid). The solution I found was to remove/replace the batteries by opening the battery compartment. There are times when it lasts for a few days, and there are times when it lasts for a few seconds. If you would like another one - Yet I fear that it would still be Due to his blindness, it is impossible for him to mess with it or reset the time/date etc. This is a bit of a bummer.
My father's power has returned due to this button! It has improved my sanity and kept him from losing his mind! It is the time of day for my elderly father, who has a hard time hearing the time. It happens frequently. A "(sometimes a " The rate is five times per It has helped him not have to ask anyone for help - Thanks to this button Hit the button again and the device will tell him the current date and time. A press of the button will also cause the device to tell him the calendar day. Using this button, you can adjust the volume in two ways You can also turn it up to a very loud level (there's a switch on the This would not be a good thing to leave next to your bedside to hit since it will easily wake up your partner or dog. The voice is a computer/robot voice, so you will hear a computer voice. I rarely ask my father if there is something I need to clarify The sound is clearly audible, so I think you can hear it. I like the button because it's light and it does what it's supposed to A portable device. Easy to carry with you wherever you go. In fact, my father is nearly blind and I had to get the extra-large size. This object is big and distinct enough that he can easily locate it in the dark, and it is large enough that he can feel around in the dark for it. (Just remember to turn your volume up! This button is awesome. )
I'm in love with it. I don't remember if they were batteries or batteries (don't remember). XB3 is a great product, but it took initial persuasion for him to make use of His love for it has grown over time.
As she grows older, it's harder to find the tiny button on the bottom used to set the time, date, and alarm. Being elderly, she gets confused when trying to do this. Getting the alarm started is the worst part. It should have a different way of setting the alarm it takes too many steps to set the alarm time and arm As a result, every time the battery was replaced, she would try to do the setup but would be frustrated by the process. As an additional suggestion, it would be great if the date and time were saved when a battery is replaced, so an elderly person has to change only the alarm after replacing the battery. We tried it, but it wouldn't support an elderly person who at this point is legally blind.
That is understandable if the purchase is made in the early 1990s. The fact that they did not know what time it was or even whether it was day or night was frustrating to them. When the clock came, I was pleased to find that it was as large as advertised, that it had only one large button to push, and even on low, the voice was easily heard. Batteries were in, and I did not even need to look at the directions for setting the clock, it was so easy to set, (I also checked the box and the directions were easy to follow). The unit does require 3 AAA batteries I can't recall whether that was stated on the seller's website or not, I just had new ones on hand. The only downside I see is I might have to charge the battery frequently since my relative loves to hear the time and then Great job, I love.
