Questions & Answers

Does it make a difference if I push in wheelchair mode on sidewalks or uneven terrain? What is the ease of turning on it?

We have observed that the Lumex walker works well on smooth flat On uneven surfaces such as cobblestones and gravel, it does not perform as well. It is also difficult to push oneself uphill on hills. The answer is no, I don't believe there is one. My walker had a nut and bolt I lost and I tried to replace it for a while even though the warranty was still in effect. If I was lucky, Amazon got me a replacement but during that time I had to purchase another walker - not

It is nice that this chair folds, but am I able to carry it? Could you comment on whether this one or the Medline Excel Rollator would be better for me?

This chair is one of the gifts I bought my mom. She loves it. Despite her small size, she weighs 100 pounds and is 5' tall. Nevertheless, I loaned it out to a friend who is larger and went on a road trip with it As well as them, it was a big hit. This is the best thing I have ever seen. This machine is easy to load and to store. As a comparison, I checked the Medline website you mentioned Legs swing away as stated in the article. There is not a swinging motion in the Lumex legs, they are easy to take apart and can be stored in a bag that is included and hangs on the back. Ensure that you are aware of the larger dimensions of the medline You may have a hard time fitting your head through the door if it is wider once the wheels swing away. There is a nice fit with the Lumex. It isn't something I However, this is not due to the chair but to the door design. A lip is usually found at the bottom of doors. In many cases, I need my mom to push the chair over the bump because I need her to get out. On the other hand, the Medline has similar wheels. As far as I've observed, most wheelchairs and strollers have this problem too. In general, this chair has been a life saver for me for taking my Mom out and about, shopping and so on. The price is also good since both products are currently on sale and ship free. Honestly, if I had to choose just one, I'd order both, then return my least favorite one!

Do the arms of the chair look like those of a wheelchair?

In a wheelchair, the arms are similar to the sides of the wheelchair. With them, one can handle the walker or a transport chair when sitting in it and use them as holder with brakes when using it like a walker. don't use a wheelchair very often, but when it comes to comfort, they're about the same for me despite being different.

In what ways does weight limit apply?

There was a paper that said 300 lbs, but I can't prove it because I trashed the papers that came with it. There's no doubt that this is a solid product.

I am stunned by this What a ball! It is the best product I've ever purchased for portable mobility
5/5

The cruise that I took my elderly parent on had several ports of call and a lot of unknown terrain, so I'm a bit worried. Besides being very stubborn, your elderly parents can also be very difficult to please when it comes to what they can or cannot Although they can walk "just fine" and "don't need any help," this was more of a question of energy conservation to me. Until I found this chair, I had resigned myself to bringing a wheelchair for her and a walker for her. E reviewed this chair for me so I decided to purchase it. She had some great pictures of her mom on vacation, which she shared with Gail Chandler. Her suggestion was a game changer, and I thank her from the bottom of my heart. The only thing that worried me was that her mother was a tiny thing, whereas my mother is a little bit bigger. It didn't seem worth it so I figured what the hell. This product is very good. I got it in blue and named it Optimus Prime. One of the first things that caught my eye was its weight. The wheelchair is unlike the standard lightweight wheelchairs (which aren't really lightweight) and it could be folded down to a surprisingly small size. Prior to our cruise, we took it out for a few test drives at the local mall, and it performed flawlessly. In my view, the most appealing feature of this product was its hybrid nature. As we walked through rough cobblestone or gravel terrain, my mom could use a walker to assist her, but once we came to flat land or a museum, she could sit in her own chariot. Our team was able to bring all the equipment it needs in one package, instead of two separate pieces. As a result, we were able to fit it in the trunk of sedan taxis in Moscow, water taxis in Copenhagen, as well as aboard a dinner cruise in Paris. It provided a reliable construction that lasted through the cobblestones of Prague, the inclines of Estonia, and the mud of a rainy The following suggestions may be helpful I always pop the legs and wheels off because it makes it so small and easy to transport. It was also impossible for me to put in No judgement! Yeah, yeah, no judgment! It was a pain in the butt having to fit the wheels in and take them out each time with gravity keeping the wheels splayed out in addition, it took way too much time. It will be necessary for you to adjust the backrest when you switch from a walker to a In the current chair, the handles and the back must be raised to be like a wheelchair, otherwise the strap crosses over the lower back and is very The bag fit into a large duffel bag, but may not fit into a large hard-sided It does not have the large stabilizing wheels since that is the style of the transport chair. It was covered with brass where the edges of the carpet touched the seams on the cruise ship. As I was pushing my mother out of the chair, she nearly fell. Bumps should be taken Furthermore, I bought my dad one once we figured out this would be a good purchase, but had to order a different brand instead. The item is a total waste of money. I was not looking forward to having to push the vehicle as we appeared to have uneven back wheels, and after a few stops, the wheels sheered off on a I don't think we bumped at all. There is therefore no such thing as an equal product. After all, my 78 year old mother who has about two children was able to stop vomiting In that time she did full days without complaining, including back to back tours from morning till evening on both days in one port-even the tour guide said that most people over 60 would not be able to do a My mom is shown using the chair in the attached pictures. A picture of this thing is included in the luggage pile as well. In this image, the car's wheels and legs have been popped off, so it is really a side view, but it is still impressive. The long blue pieces are on the left side. I also had no issues using this as my father was 6' tall. I am 5'1" tall and my mom is also.

The rolling walker is a hybrid transfer wheelchair that has some advantages over With this wheelchair, you get the benefits of a rolling walker while also solving some of the problems of a transfer wheelchair
4/5

It has recently been designed to meet the needs of individuals who sometimes want to stand up and use a walking aid, but also want the option of sitting in a wheelchair and being able to move their feet, so this chair is perfect Every moving part functions smoothly and it has a great build quality. As the seat is placed midway between the front and back wheels the user can either sit in a wheelchair or a walker. The seatback rotates to allow the user to sit in either a wheelchair or a walker. Whether riding in the front or back of the Lumex, it is very stable. It is unfortunate that the Lumex's seat position, which makes it such a wonderful hybrid solution for solo users, can lead to a lack of comfort for an assistant pushing the user when The majority of the user's weight is over the front wheels when in transfer chair mode. As the Lumex's weight is on the front wheels, it finds it difficult to climb ANY bump or ridge the wheels come across. Since there is so much weight on the front wheels, it is difficult for the assistant to tip the chair backwards to allow her to navigate Also, the weight over the front wheels contributes to the problem. When the chair is pushed down even a gentle slope, it incline to turn downward. This is only an issue when a user is being pushed through a transfer chair by an assistant. As a walker or scooch, the Lumex works fine when used by a solo individual. Bottom line The Lumex is perfect for the solo user who wants to have the option of standing or sitting while making their way around. It is a workable solution, particularly over flat, smooth surfaces, for a solo user who occasionally has an assistant. Make sure to look out for expansion joints and door sills. You won't get the right result with the Lumex if you're primarily looking for a transfer chair.

Including the option to adjust the height would have been nice
5/5

Having spent hours reading reviews of walkers and wheelchairs, I have compared and reviewed another multi-purpose wheel chair on Amazon that received good marks We are a traveling family of three generations, and I bought this as a gift for my 85 year old mother so my sister, my daughter, and I could accompany her to SoCal. It was California to Budapest at the end of the trip, and then Amsterdam and Her preferred method of getting around is to use a cane or a walker. As far as we know, we were not bothered by the Rollator when it was checked with our luggage. It was more commonly used by Mom as a walking device. The seat collapses quickly when pulled up, and we were able to quickly transition from boats, buses, and cabs, and even up and down the Castle Hill Funicular to and from Budapest. Cobblestones proved the most challenging surface, but it handled it Even though the Rollator is adjustable, we are tall (5'9") women, and it would have been better if it was able to accommodate even taller people.

It's a great chair/walker, I'm very happy with it
4/5

It's a great chair/walker, I'm very happy with it. Besides meeting my needs very well, it is very easy to use. My complaints may seem minor to some, but to others they might be My first concern was that the footrests, once attached, would not rotate flat when they were in the walker mode, which would have enabled me to use the device like a walker without having to completely detach and store Even though I thought it was unrealistic, I stood by it. A slightly bigger concern for me is that there is no bar or foot lever to assist pushers in lifting the front of the chair over the door sill or curb. The result can be that every little imperfection in a path or pavement becomes a huge The chair is certainly usable and I would like to use it, but i hope that these comments will help to improve the next model.
