Buying this for my mother-in-law was a nice gesture. The only way she can walk any distance at all is on her walker, which I take whenever she needs to go out, but she's rarely out. Due to my age and my inability to get a wheelchair into and out of her room as well as to set her up for a wheelchair, I needed something smaller and lighter than a regular wheelchair. Our son's military graduation took place at the end of July 2017, so we took this along. I used it for the first time. In addition to using it Thursday and Friday as we walked around the National Infantry Museum and then attended the graduation, we used it as well. In October, I used it again when I took her to pick out a new couch at a furniture store. The woman in question is not a big woman, and she has noticed that the seat has already started to pull away from the large bolts and buttons holding it in place. I used this on a recent trip by plane, and it did a great job. Buying it for my godmother since she has a problem with her right foot and is unable to walk long distances without suffering pain only exacerbated the problem. I was taken by surprise when I first saw it Great chair! I love it! Unlike some chairs, only the foot rests are separate, which makes it very easy to fold out and put back in. As this is the first wheelchair I have purchased, keep that in mind, but I am very pleased with how small it is and how easy it is to maneuver. With its relatively light weight, I can easily fit this in my trunk, closet, and even in a nook or crannie. Picking it up and carrying it in its case is not a problem for me. There has not been any time in which I have taken this chair on rough terrain or outside of paved areas. I will try to update you if such a situation arises.

There would be little room for wheel chairs on the back seat, even the lightweight ones. We are happy with how this works out The trunk can easily accommodate it. In her opinion, it is easy to put in and take out, but it takes a lot of effort for her to do. I realized that all the efforts had been worth it when I saw pictures of my mother in law at a mall, a restaurant, and a coffee shop. The photos have been taken. It is very well constructed, lightweight, and portable. As I have taken it to Europe, the airlines do not count it as a carryon. Before boarding, you will need to leave the plane at the entrance. It's a convenient addition to the luggage if you need a heavy-duty carrying case.
