The tip you provide is great, I'm a physical therapist and people use it all the time. It offers some balance and also helps keep the cane upright regardless of whether you're seated or standing.
A carpet is not a good surface for it.
This was a gift from me to my mother. Legal definitions. With it, she has more stability, plus her cane doesn't fall over all the time. It was a little challenging getting on her cane, however. Despite the cost, I believe it was worth it.

This black base looks too geriatric to me so I was looking for a stand-up type base. My 50th year is only a few years away and I need a cane to walk. My design was painted using DecoArt acrylic dazzling metallic paint. I think it turned out really nice. It is a shade of The coffee is rich and creamy. Later, I sprayed many coats of gloss acrylic top coat on it.
It came in handy when my Mom's cane tip fell forward when it hit a patch of water. Cane tips like this one are sturdy, well made, and well made of solid metal. Originally I bought it to add on to a solid wood cane I had previously carved. There is no way for it to be adjusted. Having been immobile for many months and then using a walker, I bought this to try for a patient who was not quite stable enough to use regular tips on a cane. It was a hit with her. The cane provided her with just enough extra stability for her to be able to switch from a walker to it with confidence. This was a very easy garment to put on and stay This is a product I'd buy.
