Questions & Answers

Is there a lockout feature that prevents pills from being taken ahead of time?

Yes. You'll find a key underneath, and unless it's unlocked, you won't be able to change the time or access any pill slots except the one for that day. If they forget to take a dose, it will turn red and you will be able to see that they did not take it. The battery compartment, on the other hand, can be accessed without the key.

I'm in desperate need of a key right now! Have I misplaced mine?

I added an extra key to my order when I placed mine. If you go back and look at your order, you can use the model number of the dispenser to look for the extra key. Best of luck!

How long will the pills be available for consumption?

They can be used until the next alarm goes off. For example, if you set your alarm for 8 a.m. every day, the pills in that slot will be available until 8 a.m. the next day. If you set the alarm for every few hours, you'll need to empty that slot/take the pills before the next alarm, or the wheel will move and you won't be able to return to it.

Is the unit still locked after the battery has been removed?

That's not the case. The pill container has a keyed lid that prevents access to the pills. The timer is controlled by the batteries, and the unit rotates internally to dispens the medications. Yes, the unit will not rotate to dispense the pills if the lid is locked and the batteries are dead. The unit's interior rotates to dispense medications from a stationary slot on the lid, while the lid and bottom remain stationary. The timer remembers the time and settings while the batteries are being replaced. I'm not sure how long the batteries will last, but I replaced them after about 5 months just to be safe.

It is not possible to use with small pills
3/5

It was a good idea, but it didn't turn out as planned. When you turn it over to get the pills out after filling up all the sections for my mother, any small pills can jump from one section to the next. When I inquired about this with the company, I was told that it only applies to regular and larger-sized pills. It would have been helpful to know this prior to placing my order. My mother, on the other hand, was perplexed by the time and attempted to open it two hours early. She removed the batteries in an attempt to get it to open, which halted the dispenser's timing. Overall, the design is poor. I couldn't keep it and had to give it back.

This is a major source of concern for the general public's safety
3/5

Initially, I thought this product was fantastic and would be of great assistance to my elderly mother, who takes numerous medications on a daily basis. The concept is fantastic, and it has a lot of potential to become a fantastic product, but there are a few issues that need to be addressed! I've discovered that smaller pills slip through the cracks and end up in other slots, potentially allowing you to take two or more of the same medication at the same time! This was the case three times when I was filling my mother's compartments, which was very unsettling! If it's a blood pressure medication or any other type of medication, this could be disastrous! Also, when I opened it, I discovered that one small pill had become lodged in the lock mechanism, which is a separate issue from the design flaws I mentioned previously. It could be redesigned with higher separating walls, or the dispensing door could be moved to the bottom of the unit.

Two people with special needs have found the perfect solution
5/5

I bought two of them - one for myself and one for a friend. one for my 89-year-old mother year- mother-in-law - one for my 67-year-old mother-in-law who suffers from dementia, and another for my mother-in year- I have an older brother who is intellectually disabled. law. Even if they were set up by me and scheduled for Monday morning/Monday evening/Tuesday morning/Tuesday evening, etc. , neither of them can figure out their medications; one would decide to take "this pink pill" at 4 p. m. because he felt like it, and the other would decide to take two slots instead of one because he wanted to! Having the ability to set an alarm for the pills and only have the pills for that time available to take is a lifesaver! I'm not sure how they didn't commit suicide by taking their pills in a haphazard manner.

Excellent machine
5/5

The latch could be improved. The only drawback is that the latch and key are too cheap and have a design flaw. When attempting to lock or unlock, the key slot fitting is insufficiently compatible with the key, and the key slips. The latch on the cover was broken as a result of this. plastic that is very thin- After about 6 months, it will begin to break down. To replace the first, I purchased a second unit, which is ideal for caring for my elderly mother. As a result, I'm unable to function without it at this time. It was extremely beneficial to us. Another thing to note is that each pill dispenser slot is triangular in shape. Some pills (oblong and Vit D gel caps, for example) tend to get lodged in the small space, so I've developed a system to keep them out. On a nearby piece of paper, I typed the total pill count at 5:00 p. m. As a result, when my mother turns the unit upside down to dispense the pills, she can count the pills to see if the correct amount was dispensed. If not, she can force the remaining pills to empty with a pencil. We put the pills in a cookie pan and cover it with a dark colored cloth so she can see them. It's amazing how medical professionals expect an 80-year-old to be able to take ten different medications throughout the day and figure out what to take every other day and once every three days. etc. . They simply fill out the prescriptions and mail them out. That is why I consider this machine to be a dream machine for our family. Particularly if the medications are frequently changed. My sisters and I are capable of setting up the machine for a week or longer. The dispenser can then be changed to match the new prescriptions after doctor visits. It's becoming a chore. Simply make (write out) a chart for each week (something that neither doctors nor medication professionals do), then fill the machine with pictures of the pills and a total count for each dispense time.

It's nearly impossible to forget pills when you're awakened by an alarm
4/5

I bought this pill dispenser for my mother, who had a habit of forgetting her daily pill boxes and missing a lot of her medications. All of the pieces and batteries were present when it arrived in good condition. It's been working well for her so far, and I'm hoping it will continue to do so; she's been using it for about 5 days. Because of a minor design flaw, I am unable to give this product a five-star rating. Small pills tend to get stuck on the edge of the compartment where it meets the plastic top, whereas capsules and larger pills easily fall out. I've labeled the machine with how many pills she should get at each dosing time, and she's figured out how to find stuck pills by poking around with her finger. br>The directions are also a little hazy, but YouTube came to the rescue once again!.

It was ideal for my mother, who is 86 years old
5/5

She had gotten to the point where she couldn't remember to take her pills or was taking them twice, which worked out perfectly for her, and she now takes two sets of pills every day.

The pill dispenser provides peace of mind while also allowing parents to maintain their independence
5/5

I bought it for my father, who was having trouble remembering to take his medication-- Despite the fact that all of the pills were placed in a day of the week sorter, he either forgot to take it or forgot that he had already done so. br>It's simple to program this automatic device. When it's time to take a dose, the try tray rotates into place, the small light flashes, and an alarm sounds. The alarm will continue to sound until the pills are removed from the dispenser. br> If dosing once a day, there are enough slots for 28 days, or it can be set up for multiple doses but will need to be refilled more frequently. This allows him to maintain his independence for a longer period of time.

Compared to the previous model, there have been a few enhancements
5/5

Since February of 2018, my mother has been using a LifeFine dispenser. It lasted 1 1/2 years before displaying an intermittent ERR message, prompting us to decide that it was worthwhile to replace it. This one has better templates than the previous one. They aren't equipped with tabs that stick down inside the compartments and trap pills. The new one is larger and has a rubber bottom that is more comfortable to hold. The key is new to me, and I'm still getting used to it, but I preferred the old key. I'm confident that with time, this one will be fine. This is a great way to make sure someone doesn't take too many medications and to see if they've forgotten any.
