Plastic is cheap, thin and not as durable. I'm not having any problems with them. The thin plastic ones bend too easily anyway, so they are better than cheap ones. There were six of them in my cart. It is strange that they come in a variety of colors, not in pairs. A very light use of 3 months caused one device to break after three months.

I was unable to put shoes on with these in place because they shifted to one side or the other and then fell off. It is possible to get them to work by holding the part that extends upward, but at that point you have to bend over so far that you might as well not have them. This long handle shoehorn is much better than the short handle shoehorn.

Those who help with shoes are stiff

In the summer, I planned to use them primarily for sneakers. Due to their bulk and inflexibility, the helpers are difficult to use on my sneakers. The backs of my sneakers are rather bulky and these helpers are not very flexible. Could be much more useable if the helpers handled things more quickly and smoothly.
