The pillow does not have a particularly firm feel to it. If you position yourself correctly, hugging it can help with coughing. It's a little smaller than I expected, but it served as a barrier between me and my seatbelt in the car. When riding, it was extremely useful in tight turns. It can also be used to help you sleep. It can assist you in finding a comfortable post-operative position.
Yes.
I put it in a delicate wash bag and tossed it in the washer with warm water.

I'm not sure why this is a product, but it's generating revenue for someone! It's a single-stitched, stuffing-filled pillow for a really low price. It's exactly like the kind of thing you'd make as your first sewing project as a kid, but with an added pocket. Everything is stitched with a single needle. Save $30 by using a regular pillow with a hot or cold pack sandwiched between two layers of any type of pillow case.
br>I would strongly advise anyone who is having abdominal surgery to try this! Must buy!.
After my hysterectomy, this pillow came in handy. It was well worth the money. I would recommend this pillow to anyone who has had abdominal surgery or who is experiencing "that time of month. " I used ice/heat packs that could be used over and over again.
He didn't want anything at first, but after reading the reviews, I decided to buy it for him before the surgery. Despite the fact that it arrived a day later than expected, I was pleased with the service. The pillow is soft but firm enough to provide adequate support for the surgical area. He carried it around with him, and instead of an ice/heat pad, he kept his pain meds and other loose items in the pocket. He slept on it as well. We'll wash it thoroughly before giving it to his mother, who is having hernia surgery in about a month! He'd still use it if it wasn't for the fact that it's now his favorite bedtime pillow!.
I went through a lot of lists about what to do after endometriosis surgery and what not to do. I came across this adorable pillow while looking for abdominal binders and thought it would be perfect for using with ice packs. I bought a lot of other things that I never used, but I'm 6 weeks post-op and still use this pillow every night to help me sleep on my side (no more ice packs). I applied ice packs multiple times per day for the first three weeks. Perfect Remedy's two-pack gel ice packs fit perfectly, and I alternated between them. The only negative aspect of this pillow is that it cannot be washed. The pillow can be unzipped, but inside is only loose stuffing.
And it was already a very comfortable pillow! My husband was so taken with my hysterectomy recovery pillow that he bought one for himself to sleep on (he's a hot sleeper, and having a pillow with a cold pack has helped him tremendously — he also uses it on his back while working at his desk!). My husband has the blue stars one, and I have the pink unicorn one (which is actually a much darker/darker blue than what they show in the picture). Exceptional product!br>br>Ah! You can also use the pocket for something else if you don't want to use it as a compress. The velcro holds up surprisingly well! I wouldn't stuff it too much (that would make your pillow lumpy, heavy, and uncomfortable lol), but you could definitely put some love letters in there:.
The pocket is convenient for storing an ice pack, but once the ice pack begins to melt, the pocket becomes inconvenient. The pillow gets wet from condensation, and you get wet from condensation. It did, however, assist with seatbelt placement on the way home following a complete laparoscopic hysterectomy. To be truly effective in reducing swelling, it must be less full and heavier.
The pillow's construction is nice, but I used regular pillows for my recovery instead of this one with the pillow. I think I would have worn it more if it had been made of a fuzzier or softer fabric. The fabric is a little waxy and scratchy after the procedure, which isn't very soothing. A hot water bottle, an icepack, or even a book will most likely fit in the pocket. br>I wish you a speedy recovery and skilled surgeons if you are about to undergo abdominal surgery.
