You can still hug it, but I'm not sure how useful it will be after your head surgery. Unless you're just trying to get up or coughing and want to make yourself more comfortable.
The pillow lacks velcro and isn't long enough to wrap around a standard torso. Although the sides appear to be excessively long, they actually aid in preventing your arms from resting against your body.
I hope this information is useful: 34 inches long, 11 inches wide at the ends, and 7 inches wide at the cut outs for the breasts.
Yes, I've washed it a couple of times.

In just two weeks of use, the fabric ripped in two places! Returned. I thought this pillow would provide some comfort during my recovery from breast cancer surgery, and it did for a very, very short time. The fabric is extremely thin and ripped in two places in the first week and a half after my surgery, and the filling shifts. I gave them two stars because they delivered the next day and the seller was responsive. When I contacted Rainbowstar about the problem, they were quick to respond. They advised me to get in touch with Amazon, which I did. I returned it, and Amazon was very helpful in the process. I placed an order with pinkpepperco. com - It's a lot more substantial, and it'll last a lot longer!.
After the first use, the seams began to fall apart, making it unsuitable for driving after surgery. Within a few days, the pillow's seams were bursting at the seams. Because I was leaving stuffing all over the place, my partner stitched them all up for me. Aside from that, it was adequate for car travel.
Thank you to whoever thought of this! You are a truly remarkable person. I was talking to a friend about heart surgery pillows and wondered if there was anything similar available for my procedure. As a result of Facebook/Amazon's listening, this pillow appeared in my Facebook feed. I clicked on it, ignoring the strangeness factor, and it was exactly what I needed. So I went out and bought it, bringing it with me to the hospital. I had a double mastectomy with a flap/tummy reconstruction, as well as the removal of my ovaries and Fallopian tubes. Needless to say, there was a lot of it. 5 hours in the operating room They wanted me up the next day, so I asked my nurse to get the pillow out of the bag for me. She'd never seen anything like it before. I have six drains, and maneuvering the pillow around them was relatively simple. For the rest of my life, I hugged it. For the duration of my hospital stay (3 days), I did not let it go at all. I'm not sure how I would have coughed if it hadn't been for it, and the intubation had made my throat sore, so I had to cough. I hunched over and walked around hugging it. I hugged it as I carried it to the bathroom. It has a zippered cover that can be washed, but I haven't let go of it long enough to do so. I returned home yesterday and have no idea how I would have managed without the seat belt. In October, one of the nurses will undergo the same double mastectomy and reconstruction, which she requested on the spot. In the front, there's also a handy pocket for my phone. Overall, this was the best gift I could have given myself, and I am eternally grateful to whoever created it.
Following a double mastectomy, I went on a three-hour car ride. My children and I share a bed. To say the least, this pillow has saved me from numerous disasters; my pectoral muscles were also weak, and all I had to do was flare the sides of the pillow to under my arms to provide support (primarily so I could use my phone). This is the one item I would recommend to everyone out of all the things I bought to help me get through this!.
It's very relaxing. I had a flat closure on both breasts after a bilateral mastectomy. DCIS was a problem for me. It didn't arrive in time for the trip home from the hospital, but I used it to get to doctor appointments until I was feeling better (4 to 6 weeks). The fabric is in good condition and can most likely be cleaned with a damp cloth. wrung-out cloth Because I didn't use it very often or for long periods of time, I never washed it. (An additional point: The mastectomy left me feeling surprisingly exposed. I was in pain and sore due to two drains. You're concerned about something getting caught in the drain - which actually took place - You're starting to feel like a newborn baby girl. There are no feathers on her, and she is frail and vulnerable. I dropped a bottle of Flonase on my breast bone the first week while lying on my back. OUCH! I had large breasts and didn't realize how much they protected me from my own clumsiness until it was too late. lmao) It's quite comfortable. I ordered the constellation pattern and it turned out to be even better than I had anticipated. To avoid coming across as ungracious, a mastectomy can leave you feeling overwhelmed by pink. I'm praying for healing for everyone who requires it, regardless of the reason.
This pillow was a lifesaver for me after a double mastectomy! I was able to place icepacks over the incisions and under my arms and keep them there. This pillow helped keep my arms away from my sides and add gentle comforting pressure under arms and over the chest incisions when I no longer needed to ice but still had under arm pain from the lymph node biopsies. Whoever came up with this design deserves a pat on the back.
Some users gave it poor ratings, but I will point out that it has a zipper and the ability to be stuffed fuller, which is exactly what I did. br>I purchased this in preparation for a VATS surgery for endometriosis that I had earlier this year. It was useful while sleeping in the hospital, driving, and flying. It received a lot of positive feedback, and I plan to use it as an additional pillow on future trips.
On the pillow, I like the color and pocket. After only one day of use, it was clear that it needed more filling because it was wobbling like a fish and not forming the barrier that was required following surgery. I went out and purchased more filler since then. I was glad they could add it because they had zip access.
