Questions & Answers

I have a toilet seat that is elongated - Is it going to work?

There is a big difference between fitting and securing. Does it fit a toilet that is elongated? It fits on top of my parents' elongated Kohler Highline classic toilet.br>Can it be secured to an elongated toilet? It is not compatible with the Kohler Highline classic toilet, which is elongated. You can turn the dial until it stops turning and the lever no longer reaches the toilet bowl's front. br>br>The goal of a product like this is to make it easier for someone with mobility issues to use the toilet safely. If you use this product on an elongated toilet, it is completely unsafe.

What is the height of it?

You should read the specifications on this page because it will save you time from having to ask questions. It adds 5 inches to your height, but it didn't work for me because it was never tight and always very loose.

Will the Care x Easy Fit 5 inch high toilet comfortably fit seats with a depth of 14 inches and a width of 11 inches?

It's supposed to fit most standard seats, according to the manufacturer. I didn't bother measuring anything and had no problems.

Is it necessary to remove my existing toilet seat, or will this product sit on top of it?

I can't check because we sent it to a friend who had a knee replacement, but I believe you can keep the existing toilet seat on and flip it up. The toilet bowl's porcelain rim is where the raised seat is placed. Because it didn't extend too far from the sides of the toilet, it was ideal for our friend with a small bathroom.

A toilet seat that is raised to relieve some of the discomfort
5/5

This is what you'll need if you've had surgery that makes getting out of a sitting position difficult. Carex E- is a type of Carex. For me, the Z lock raised toilet seat with the raised handle arms is ideal. Let me begin with the Pros.
Pros: It's well-made, fits my elongated toilet, the handles are in a good position for pushing yourself up, the seat is raised high, and the tightening mechanism works well. It's well worth the money (47 dollars), and it'll last a long time if you ever need it again. You don't have to remove your toilet's original seat or lid to use this seat. Leave your old seat in place and only use the E- Tighten the adjustment on the Z seat and place it in the bowl. The original seat and lid must be removed and attached to the riser with some raised toilet seat extensions. This one, however, is an exception. There are no additional steps or work required.
Cons: The seat is uncomfortable, but let's be honest, it wasn't designed to be sat in for long periods of time. It's designed for you to get your work done and get out of there quickly. And if you're a guy, you can just tuck it between your legs if you need to pee while sitting. br>br>This is an excellent item to have on hand for yourself or a family member in case of an emergency. br>In addition, a Hip Kit is something I would suggest for post-surgery comfort. Even if you haven't had hip surgery, a hip kit can assist you with the difficult task of dressing yourself. In the product search box or area, type in Hip Kit and look at the items that help you get your socks on, a 24" metal shoe horn, a 32" grabber to pick up things you drop and are unable to bend and pick up, a hook to help pull your pants, and a long handled sponge for washing your back or back side.

It is too small
3/5

When I read reviews, I look for three-star ratings because I believe they are the most accurate. I'm usually wary of five-star reviews, and you should be as well. The price is reasonable, and it's simple to set up. It's uncomfortable to sit on, it's too narrow, and it's also not long enough. According to one review, you can't poop and pee at the same time. This is unquestionably true for men, and you cannot rely on it. 5" is also a bit of a tall figure. Because I'm tall, I can't get my feet firmly planted on the ground while seated. Mine will be recycled as plastic. I replaced it with a good one for $150. I had hip surgery and should have opted for a more comfortable product; hopefully, others will learn from my mistake.

Not in the least stable
3/5

5 Stars. Acceptable to a point. This is something I bought to use after my hip replacement surgery. I'm 70 years old, 5'10" and 200 pounds, and I'm in decent shape thanks to daily farm work. The toilet is a 1/6 gal/flush American Standard toilet. It wouldn't fit in the first place because the toilet seat was still in place. When I tightened the front holding screw, the back rode up against the underside seat to hinge attachment. It was very unstable with the back up and would pop out if I didn't use the handrails evenly while standing. With the seat removed, it was a little better, but it was still shaky and would fall out if I tried to stand on one handrail, so I had to make a rear hold down (see photo). The base mount was fitted with a painted aluminum bar, and the rear was secured with standard hose clamps. It's simple to take apart for cleaning, and it's incredibly durable. I shouldn't have had to do this, but almost every other option appeared to have a similar mounting system.

size information For cleaning purposes, drill a small hole
5/5

I purchased two of these for my hip replacement six weeks ago. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise! In terms of size, the majority of the ones sold are three inches tall. 5 inches in height This one with 5" seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. My feet dangle because I'm 5'4" tall. LOL. It's still usable, but there's a 3. 5 would have sufficed, as it is long enough for my elongated toilets. It has a screw to keep it in place and is well-fitting. You don't have to remove your existing toilet seat thingy because it fits right on the toilet. It does not budge in the least. The arms. wonderful. Without them, I would not have been able to use it. My hip didn't have any power. IN REGARDS TO CLEANING. With the arms on, I submerged them in the tub of water. They can be taken off, but I'm too lazy to do so. I did a thorough cleaning. They're easy to clean. BUT. Water gets trapped inside, so I drilled a hole (maybe 1/4" size?) near the top of the back corner to drain the water. This is an excellent item.

Not secure, so it was returned right away
3/5

This was a disaster. It was delivered to us and we promptly returned it. The seat wobbled on the toilet after you tightened the front clasp as tightly as possible, and you could completely lift it off the toilet. That isn't secure in any way. I bought it for my mother, who is approaching 70 years old. She'd recently had a hip replacement (due to cancer), and when she saw how much it rocked on the seat, she didn't want anything to do with it. (I also double-checked that I installed it correctly - There isn't a whole lot to it - Place it in the bowl and secure the front clasp. ) Unfortunately, it's one of the few that sits up 5" and has handles that I've found. We ended up getting one for free from Humana Pharmacy - I would have preferred a 5" lift with handles that bolt into the back of the bowl, but I don't believe they exist. Using the same Carex brand with a 5" lift and bolt on, but no handles.

It takes care of itself so that you can focus on yours
5/5

This is easy to put on and take off for my disabled wife, who has back problems. It's stable enough to use in the toilet. It's not for gripping when getting out of the shower, but it's perfect for getting on and off the can. Cleaning is a breeze. When you need to make a deposit at Smells Fargo, you can do so knowing that you'll be able to get on and off with ease and less pain. You will not fall on your buttocks; instead, you will sit on them. If you throw a big mudd, it won't hit you where you're most vulnerable.

Not all toilets are compatible with this product
3/5

Beware! Despite claims to the contrary, the product does not fit all toilets. My elderly parents' toilets are both elongated, so I bought this for them. This would not be appropriate. Choose another product, and let's hope that the product's description is updated so that others do not experience the same problem, inconvenience, or headache.
