A friend of mine is ill and has trouble getting down stairs to the bathroom, so I bought her this commode for her. An obvious reason for the large size of the product was its intended use. Despite being very wide, almost too wide, the opening is so small that it makes it hard to do business #1 and #2 at the same time for someone of a large build. The pan is also pretty shallow that standing up to do business #1 isn't a good option. In spite of that, it is a very solid and well-built bag.
We find that this works well for our needs. It would not be safe for a handicapped person to use unattended, or for someone carrying more than the advertised weight limit. There will be clear movement in the frame for anyone weighing over 200 pounds.
Three of these items have been bought in the past five This is a very durable and functional product. The money is well spent. I thought it was a good price as well.
It is NOT bariTric to use a toilet seat. The point of sitting a very large person on a tiny seat is what good does it do?.
