The majority of the time, we chose to wear the sling over the shirt, but on the occasion when we wore the shirt over the sling, we were able to dress ourselves independently. The store sold me a size larger than I needed, and I am glad I bought it. Immobilizing the patient before leaving the operating room was their first priority. After I left the surgery center, the nurses helped me to get dressed with the immobilizer and snaps, and I thought they put a shirt over my arm. But I didn't realize, they did this for me, and I never noticed this until after I got home. A couple days later, it was just sitting there, unmovable because of the immobilizer. That is, they did not have the shirt wind under my arm and around my Consequently, they don't want to take the risk of moving. That's the case. We recommend ordering a larger size! The material is thick and well made. This was a little heavy for summer, but it was very comfortable, and the snaps made life a lot easier when I was able to feed it through under my arm and around the immobilizer.
In my opinion, button front shirts work better and are certainly easier to wear. My first wear of it was when I came home from the hospital after shoulder surgery. There is way too much cost involved in using it To use it, you need to step into it, then put it to your shoulders and snap all the sides. I will be back in an hour.
I think the shirt with the shoulder snaps is a great idea, but the execution of this idea needs to be improved. The edge of the fabric where the snaps are attached needs to be stabilized with some sort of material. After a few weeks when they were being used, the snaps began pulling through the knit fabric. In order to ensure the shirt would last until it could no longer be worn, my husband and his physical therapist took extra care in opening the sleeves along the shoulders. An exceptional product would be made by enhancing the area where the snaps are located.
To wear after my shoulder surgery and before I had the surgery, I ordered this shirt. The shoulder brace was purchased by my husband after he broke it. As a temporary solution, it provided comfort until he was able to use his regular clothes. Several of the snaps could have been more securely attached to the fabric, but that's the only complaint. I bought 2 of them in size 2X and 2 in size 3X after having shoulder surgery. It would be great to wear them at the doctor's office. A snap of the wrist can be removed for examining, but the bracelet is extremely comfortable to I would only caution you to wash them before wearing them and to hang dry them since they are 100% cotton. As I sit in the hospital waiting for a stem cell transplant, I have a picc line attached to For a month I'll be strapped to it, and spending that much time in a hospital gown isn't fun at all. That's what I bought and I like it a lot. The shirt is currently on my body. Taking the shirt off over my hips, I took a shower, undid the snaps all the way on the right shoulder, and stepped into it. After securing the right shoulder, it was perfect. Surely this company should advise their customers that their ports should be used with a picc line. There are tons of companies that offer port covers, but nothing to use with.
