It was time to keep my 4th metacarpal in place while it healed because I was in need of something to hold it. Despite having fairly small hands, even though this did a great job keeping the injured finger in place, I needed to reposition it over and over again because my hand kept slipping out the opening. In general, however, this shouldn't be a major issue if you keep in mind the issue. It is more of a minor nuisance than anything else. Considering the price you're paying, it's a great product. I have come a long way since wearing it for a few weeks now, thanks to this.
