Questions & Answers
This is not the kind of light you want to use to generate heat.
It measures approximately 4 inches in length. It is only compatible with the combination light fixture.
This is approximately the same as the 5. 0 bulbs. Tropical is a number of five. 10 is the number 0 in the desert.
I'm not sure if it will fit the dome one; I used it with a ZIlla mini heat uvb lamp, but it has the same socket as a halogen bulb; double-check with the manufacturer to be sure.

This was purchased to give my eurydactylodes agricolae some UV. The light is housed in a Zilla Fxtr Low Profile Dual G9 fixture with a tiny blue daylight 25W halogen bulb, and the fixture is set to a day/night cycle timer. It wasn't until late March or early April that I began to use it. This bulb is now dead, as I discovered today. The halogen light bulb continues to function. I had hoped for a bulb that would last longer than a month. Very let down.
I've never used these lights before, but I bought them along with the mini halogens for a reptile light fixture. Our bearded dragon went through the most massive molt I've ever witnessed. So I'm guessing they're fantastic. He's most likely in a much better mood now.
This was purchased for my green anole in a 10 gallon tank; however, the amount of UV it emits is insufficient for the anole's needs. Even when it was basking directly under the bulb, it stopped eating and turned dark brown. After I made the decision to spend the money, I purchased a Reptisun 10 with a 5. Now that I've removed the bulb, my anole is eating again and appears to be much more active.
Three bulbs were purchased by me. One has decided to stop working today. It worked for 30 days in a row. I am sad. There are only 30 days left:.
It appears to have a good light output. It's turned on, as is a 50-watt daytime blue light.
I'd only use this for animals that require a small amount of UV, such as frogs, nocturnal geckos, and salamanders, in a 10 gallon enclosure. My Leopard Gecko, on the other hand, appears to be content.
They were neatly packed bulbs. They were prompt in their arrival.
