We didn't want to replace the fixture because we liked it so much, but it's a nearly always-on area for the family, so we wanted to replace the standard incandescent candelabra bulbs with CFLs. We discovered this to be a very rare item, as there were only three bulbs. To fit into our fixture, the contact tip to bulb end must be 5" long. I thought I'd found some that looked similar at a local big box store and bought them without measuring them. Too big! So I went back to Amazon and ordered these, and we were thrilled to find that they were exactly what we needed for our fixture! br>There are only three of them. It's 5" long and easily fits in the palm of your hand. The color temperature is similar to that of the incandescent bulbs we replaced. They are nearly instant on, like many/most CFLs, but they brighten slightly after a minute or so of warming up, but they provide more than adequate brightness right away. We'd been looking for over a year! br>br>It's not often that I have so much to say about light bulbs, but we'd been looking for over a year!.
I purchased a lovely ceiling fan/light with two side-by-side sockets and was unable to locate an LED light that was short, had this type of base, and produced enough lumens to brighten the room. Until I came across this spring lamp, that is. The light illuminates the space and accomplishes its purpose. It's worth noting that the image for this item at the time of purchase had the wrong number of lumens. The correct lumens are 825, as described in the description, and I've included photos of the box. Anyway, I ordered a backup set in case the first set burns out.
I tried several types of LEDs in my ceiling fan and discovered that while they were "bright," they did not evenly light the room, necessitating the use of other lights to achieve adequate lighting. Even sitting right next to them, reading was difficult. All of those issues were resolved thanks to the Springlamp bulbs. I don't usually write reviews or wax poetic about light bulbs, but these are fantastic if you want to see where you're going and read without having to turn on the lights.
The lightbulb is in excellent condition. It's a little too bright for what we needed it for, but that's because I didn't get a lower watt bulb.
Just right for the job, but we also bought the adapters to change the socket size to medium so we could choose from a wider range of bulbs.
Everything went according to plan. The work was completed on time.
It fit in the fan and worked fine; it wasn't quite as bright as I had hoped, but that is most likely due to the color spectrum.
Our chandelier had a couple of lights out, and it uses these small type light bulbs, which were quickly replaced and are still working perfectly.
