I'm not sure what I'm saying. The bulb begins with B84, but your replacement number begins with 884. When I bought mine years ago, I had a hard time finding the right one, so I called OttLite and the lamp manufacturer, and they assisted me in finding the bulb that worked best and lasted the longest; it cost $35, but it was well worth it. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a bulb that wasn't going to last.
There are two prongs to it.
Have you come across one yet? I, too, am in desperate need of one. My lights are beautiful, but finding replacement bulbs is a chore.
Have you been able to locate a source for SL20B-? Is it better to use 120 bulbs or a different type of light bulb?

(That plug-in is ballasted. ) ) I can't seem to locate the ballasted 25 watt bulb that came with my OttLite, so I assume it's no longer available. THIS ONE IS EXACTLY THE SAME COLOR AS THE PREVIOUS! Also, keep in mind that OttLites have TWO TYPES OF BALLASTED BULBS (at least for floor lamps): one on the bottom with OFFSET plugs, and the other on the bottom with plugs directly ACROSS from each other. THIS IS THE SIDE-BY-SIDE-BY-BY-BY-BY-B a BALLASTED KIND of a kind of a kind of a kind of a kind of (I put emphasis on the difference because I had to learn it the hard way. ) ) Because these bulbs last so long (10,000 hours), consider purchasing a few to save for the future, as the lamps themselves are ETERNAL - My five-year-old one, on the other hand, seems to last an eternity. By the way, I meticulously recorded the details, such as item number, bulb size, and so on, from my first Ottlite, but supplies were nowhere to be found years later, so that's another reason to stock up. I also use electrical tape to secure the bulb after it has been plugged in, so that I can move the lamp without jiggling the bulb out (which breaks, even on carpet!). ) It's pointless to have a great light if you don't have, or can't get, a bulb to go with it! Also, if you have any issues, Amazon's "A to Z Guarantee" will replace the bulb. However, you must first inquire.
I'm ready to toss these bulbs, as well as the Ott Lite fixture, out the window! If you even give them a slight prod, the bulb FALLS OUT and smashes to bits! They aren't particularly bright, and they come at a hefty price. It's insane to keep these light fixtures around! I'm actively looking for a new light fixture that uses STANDARD screw-in bulbs at a much lower cost (and inconvenience), not to mention the incredible danger of cleaning up 1,000 pieces of a lame but expensive light bulb that can't be found at the grocery store. I'm tired of it and want to get out of here!.
I have a Shiloh Pharmacy Floor Lamp that was recently knocked over and the bulb was shattered. B84J33 was the lamp's included bulb. After doing some research, I discovered that this bulb is a perfect replacement for that one, and I wanted to leave a review so that others who are looking for a replacement bulb can rest assured that this one will work! In addition, the OttLite representative wanted to sell me a completely different bulb for $29 plus $9. It cost me 95 dollars to ship it, and I'm pretty sure I ordered the wrong one. The bulb number is not printed anywhere on the lamp, so it can only be found on the bulb. People, do your homework because these are a little perplexing.
The bulb had a good amount of compressed air inside it. If you're not sure which bulb you need, visit the Ottlite website or call them with the model of your lamp or the bulb number. This bulb had a different number than the one it replaced, which can be very confusing. The SL20B and this bulb are interchangeable. My Lexington lamp has been turned back on!.
Because of their unique Type M socket fitting, these bulbs are difficult to come by. My most recent bulb order arrived on February 22, 2021. It had been dead for about a week. For a $25 fluorescent bulb, it doesn't have a very long life. My incandescent bulbs have a longer life span than this one. For my particular lamp, however, there are no other options. I'm going to throw the lamp away if this one doesn't sell in 6 months.
I bought an Ottlite floor lamp a few years ago, which I use for reading and quilting, despite the fact that my family members complain that it's "too bright!" " For close work, my aging eyes require bright light. The bulb is difficult to find because it is pushed in rather than screwed in. I was overjoyed to receive two of these, one of which would serve as a backup. I discovered the spare bulb I bought years ago when I went to put the backup bulb in my pantry! Although some viewers have complained that these bulbs don't last very long, I've only had to replace mine twice in the past ten years. Ott, on the other hand, should have used a standard screwdriver, in my opinion. First and foremost, in the bulb. In addition, I purchased my lamp from JoAnn, and they no longer stock the replacement bulb, which disappoints me.
These light bulbs are fantastic. I've been using them for cross stitching for a long time. They're the only ones like them. Totally fantastic - Only these bulbs can be used in my two ottlite lamps, and they last an eternity. Only in these lamps am I allowed to use them. All I want is for them to keep making them. They create incredible lighting.
$22 was the total price. It passed away on September 13, 2021. I'm getting rid of my perfectly good Ott Lamp because these bulbs are becoming increasingly expensive and difficult to come by. A three-month life expectancy is unacceptably short. It's too bad.
