Over the last decade, I've purchased this bulb twice. It's not an issue. It always works for me when I use it for a few hours every day. It will dim and resume its normal function when it reaches the end of its life. Then it will go dark for good. I hope this information is useful.
I may have misinterpreted the question, but I purchased this bulb as a replacement in 2018 and it is still available as far as I know.
I'm not sure, but it could be anywhere between 5 and 7 years.

This bulb was the right one, but it wouldn't work in my lamp, so I can't comment on brightness. I informed the seller that it was not working, and that it was most likely due to a broken lamp. Because of the seller's responsiveness, I'm giving this item 5 stars. I will buy from them again without hesitation.
It works fine, but the base is not identical to that of the Verilux. 2 pins were partially ground down and then snapped into place. Color temperature and light output are both acceptable, and at a significantly lower cost!.
I like the price, the quick delivery, and the fact that it was exactly what I needed.
I couldn't get it to work after the first day. I placed two more orders with two different sellers. One arrived in good condition and functions properly, while the other was damaged upon arrival.
This bulb was purchased to replace one that I had recently installed in my floor lamp. So far, I haven't done any research on this one. The package, on the other hand, arrived undamaged, and I expect it to function properly when I install it in about three years.
