We moved into our house in November, and our toilets began 'gurgling' and losing water when the washing machine would drain in March. It was followed by x, which was the next step down. We used to use Ridx, but this stuff seems to work just as well and isn't nearly as expensive, so I'll be buying it again and again. We live in the country and only have a septic system, which seems to work just as well as the super-expensive stuff I can't remember. I used to buy that stuff all the time, and a year's supply cost a fortune, but it worked great, Rid- x was the next step down, and this is on par with, if not better than, Rid-.

I chose this over Ridex products because it is less expensive, and I am a cheapskate because I am retired and spending extra money on things makes me even angrier. Ridex and this are nearly identical. It's the same shade of blue. When it comes to the actual "pods" in the bag, it's just packaged a little differently. It's difficult to open and requires scissors, but if you have pets or toddlers, this isn't a bad thing. Now I'm not sure if it makes a difference in my septic system at my country home. I don't go in there and take a look around. I don; I'd like to take a look inside. I have the system pumped out on a regular basis, and the guy who does it never says anything unusual, such as "there are concrete blocks being sucked through the hose" and into his truck, so I take his silence as proof that it works. I'll take it on faith that the system is working, just as I would with burial vaults and caskets that claim to be leak-proof for 75 years. I really don't want to do the research to verify such a claim, so unless the guy with the truck and the hose tells me otherwise, I'm going to assume it's true. It appears to be operational. These small pods are very handy. You open the pack, toss a pod into the toilet, and flush. It's that simple. This is preferable to purchasing a separate measuring cup for the liquid product and storing it in a separate location just for the septic tank saver. I'd most likely forget about it and use it to bake a cake, which no one wants. And I'd probably buy a measuring cup on Amazon, where I'd probably get another review from a bored retiree. Now that I'm older, I prefer to save time and make things simple whenever possible. It's a good investment and very easy to use if you can trust that the product is effective without climbing into the depths of your poop tank. If you have teenagers at home, you might want to keep these in the safe. Not that they resemble Tide Pods exactly, but you never know with today's kids.

Treatments for septic issues! If you own a vacant house on a well, you may want to consider selling it. To keep drains smelling fresh, you'll need septic the Septic Treatment and Green Gobbler bio sticks. br>First, I cleaned the drains with Green Gobbler's hair snare tool (a yucky job, but one that could be done without removing the drain covers). I used a pair of disposable gloves. wiped the tool clean with paper towels and reused it until the thorns were worn out. After that, I added the Drain powder and flushed it with boiling water. All drains are clean, drain quickly, and have a pleasant odor. After that, I inserted a Green Gobbler bio stick into each drain to keep the bio matter dissolved. For a vacant house, once a week, I recommend running water through each drain.

Our ejector pump, which transports waste water from our lower level bathroom, was having a series of problems. We bought this stuff and have been tossing one packet into the toilet monthly since the last plumber visit, and he said it was soap scum that clogs the works and causes problems. The plumber has been kept at bay for the past two years.
