Questions & Answers

The paint on my bbq's outside will it be protected?

The coating will only protect metal for a short time. Sun and rain will destroy it, leaving the metal exposed to rust

The cast iron cook stove is for my granddaughter, and I am cleaning it. Would stove black work for this purpose, and if it did, would it wash off her hands as well?

So I just did the stove top kettle and it worked beautifully. This is the software that I've been using for Let it dry completely and buff it with a cloth after it has been applied.

Do you think it can be used in cast iron skillets and Dutch ?

It is OK to use it externally on them as long as you don't put it on the inside. It is a polish after all, so you wouldn't want to eat any of it.

Can I use this product on bare metal surfaces even though it says not to? You're saying a wood stove is something like that, ?

The cast iron of a wood stove looks like cast iron. Despite absorbing well into the stove, the polish looked a little cloudy. It's normal metal on a shield that's behind my stove. There was no adhesion between the polish and the wall. It did not have a scratch, but instead I touched it up

After experiencing rusty and stained cooking surfaces for over 4 years and wiping and polishing with every type of material that could be recommended in any YouTube video or blog, I finally found the original repair and It's black in the stove. Basically, it is a mix of paraffin wax and My kitchen stove was covered in rust and stains, so I decided to remove as much of them as I could with a pumice phone. The surface of my stove is made of solid steel and not stainless steel. Nickel and cast iron are used to trim the stove. It is necessary to apply the thinnest possible coat of stove black in order to achieve the best results. You can achieve this by applying it when the stove is at room temperature, which is about 70 degrees. Stoves that are too warm will absorb too much heat and will result in a lot of smoke and waste once they are fired up. The effect of applying too cold will be that the penetration will be inadequate, so you will need to put in much more effort. In a small blob, a blob should just sit there at 70° like a lump of chocolate. Rub it two or three times to increase the temperature so it will melt in to the metal after a few degrees. You should put the back of your hand in it and rub it hard and evenly, keeping rubbing until it has all been absorbed. It took me two attempts to start the stove after I had done this process twice. There was nothing wrong with the stove surface at this point. I did not see any smoke for quite some time after I ignited the stove. There was a slight odor of burning wax. It was also applied to the cast iron trim and any leftover residue on the nickel was wiped off with a damp cloth. Having cooled the stove down, I repeated the same process by applying two thin coats more. No rust has returned so far, and the surface appears to be in good condition. While I plan on applying again, the stove appears to be close to the surface of a properly finished cast iron pan at this point in time. As a result, I recommend this product highly. I would give it a 5 star rating, except that they don't provide any instructions and it ends up with negative reviews that mention I am pretty sure that 100% of people would be happy with this product if the instructions were provided in the review.

It's a great product

Although the jar is small, a little of it goes a long way. I was a bit skeptical at first. During the excitement ahead of trying it, I forgot to take a picture of my before. Throughout my research, I managed to find an earlier picture of the stove. There is no way to tell how dry and discolored the old top was, because the image after was so much better. Although it smelled bad, I just opened a window a bit in order to alleviate it. The stove pipe awaited me so I didn't touch it for now since I wasn't sure if I should start it or not.

I am amazed! We have had a Hearth Mate wood stove that came with our house for a few years now, but it was always a little bit rusted on the surface
5/5

Recently, we decided that we wanted to sell our house, so we decided to paint it a different color. When the stove went out but I was still warm to the touch, I applied this. The following steps should be performed before polishing In order to remove the rust, I scrubbed the corroded parts with a green scratch pad and wiped them clean with rubbing alcohol and paper towels. It has been a while since I took the time to research. The polish can be used- In the beginning, we used a small piece of old t-shirt that we cut in half In the end, I used my (gloves) hands to rub it liberally into my shirt and a toothbrush to scrub the nooks and crannies. The surface is allowed to dry and then lightly buffed with a clean, old Although I didn't do my best in the prep, the result looks like a brand new stove even with my lazy way of doing it. As I pulled it off the flame, I did not notice much of a smell or smoke. It had a faint odor similar to that of tempura paint for children. It took just a few minutes for the stove to heat up completely and the smell was gone. We didn't have to open windows. Despite the challenges we encountered, our team is extremely pleased with the outcome. So much remains in the jar that I will even have enough to polish my next stove when I move.

This is amazing! In other words, it does precisely what it says

A rusty stove is transformed into a work of art! I also did not notice any waxy burnoff. Once you prepare the area, apply the paste. Grind it until it is smooth and glossy. This paste is long lasting even when heated.

The finish is nice and even, and the product is easy to use
5/5

The product is a cream like consistency, covering well and goes on easily. I have tried several other brands, but the one I prefer is this one. By using a terrycloth towel in a circular motion, I applied it to the wall and then let it According to the manual, it should be polished with a clean cloth, but I didn't have much luck with that. After you have fire the stove and it produces an even black color and no odor (important to me). It is no longer possible to see the swirl marks that I had left behind. My overall satisfaction with this product is excellent and I plan to order more when my current container is empty. It could take a while to finish the stove, since it takes so little to do it. I just wanted to let you know- My experience shows that it can also be removed with "Shout" laundry stain remover applied liberally as soon as possible if you get it on your clothing. After laundering, you will not see any black stains.

Rusted outdoor furniture can be repaired by applying a new finish
5/5

The black metal comes in two colors In the fall last year, it wasn't covered over as it usually is, because it was a different color As you might suspect, it rains in Seattle a lot from the late fall into May or June or even July sometimes. There are two sets to choose from You're setting your furniture up for corrosion when it's left outside. We bought some coarse sandpaper and a can of rust treatment solution online. The last two items could be obtained at a hardware store, but why do that, when you can order them via mail and get them for less? Using sandpaper, my son (the one who was supposed to cover the furniture) removed the rust, sprayed the anti-rust solution, and covered it with wood paint In reality, rust compounds are powders. During the past few days, it has rained, and the compound washed away. The anti-bacterial agent we purchased has been reordered a second time I use this stove polish on top of a rag to apply it quickly, since it dries in less than half an hour. I normally wait 24 hours to do this, but this time it dried outside for 24 hours. Taking the following precautions is the only thing you should do Be careful not to get any of this on clothing or anything else you don't want to look stained for life. I caught him before he even came into the house throwing away the used rags in a plastic garbage bag. **** Compared with the expense and effort of having to replace outdoor furniture, this is a good idea and it was cost-effective.
