It has been fifty years since I've been using Hagerty Silver Foam. I was recommended it by the jeweler who lived across the street from my parents when I was a young bride. To clean the silver, he suggested using a sponge made from natural materials, so over the years I have kept one on hand. While I must admit that it isn't my favorite thing to do, the silver foam makes things far more manageable. The delicate details in the silver that tend to tarnish because they are difficult to remove with conventional cleaning. The silver does not have any messy, chalky stuff on it that needs to be buffed off. In the simple act of cleaning, the foam creates a lather that acts like soap and water and helps lift the tarnish away. If you are finished with the silver, just dry it as if you were drying dishes after washing them. I couldn't have done it better. It has been a tendency for my silver to get less action and fewer cleanings as the years pass, so I'm frequented by "Oh, Oh" situations that require a little extra elbow grease, but the Hagerty products always get it back to like new.
