The active ingredient in liquid bleach is sodium hypochlorite, and the active ingredient in this product is sodium hypochlorite as well, so it's the same thing, not an alternative. I'm not sure why people would pay $17 for a quarter gallon of bleach with some added surfactant. I have the ability to purchase 5 gallons of 12. 5% sodium hypochlorite that is a day old or less per EPA standards (bleach degrades and weakens over time and is typically too weak to sanitize around the house about 90% Because this product is probably about 5% or less sodium hypochlorite, I didn t see what percentage of active ingredient was in this product. When we moved our house, there was a lot of black mold in one area. I power washed it, bleached it, and tried everything in the 30 second time slot, but nothing worked. It didn't go away; it kept reappearing. We got it, and it's still missing almost a year later. It took three sprayings to cover the entire area, but it was a large and dense one. Because the spot was so high, we didn't scrub at all.
On a memory foam mattress, I would not recommend using any liquid period. Moisture has the potential to degrade foam in more ways than one. Consider a kitchen sponge: once wet, it never fully recovers its original shape and deteriorates over time. That's exactly what you're doing to your mattress.

What a heinous deception! It's nothing more than a BLEACH spray bottle. The price should be $2, and the label should simply read "This is a Bleach bottle. ".
This is one of the most incredible cleaning products I've ever come across. It assisted me in cleaning my moldy bathroom and restoring it to a pristine white state in a matter of minutes. However, in order to use this product safely, you must treat it and the cleaning procedure as if it were a science lab. They aren't the ones who are having issues with this product. br>br>Here's a quick lesson in science for you. Mold produces spores, which protect cells and keep them alive in *abnormal* conditions. This product is DEFINITELY strong enough to kill spores, effectively keeping mold at bay. I sprayed my bathroom a few months ago and take very hot showers. There is still no evidence of black or pink mold. Here's the catch: in order to kill spores, the chemical must be quite powerful. br>br>According to the manufacturer, this product is 5 times more powerful than other chemical cleaning products. The MSDS is even mentioned in the bottle's instructions. Consider your chemistry lab experience, where you were required to take precautions, carefully follow instructions, and wear goggles, gloves, and clothing to cover any exposed skin. This is a VERY POWERFUL BLEACH, so keep that in mind. To use the product, you don't need to be a rocket scientist; just keep in mind the following: br>1) If you're working in a small space, make sure it's well ventilated both before and after you spray. br>2) Put on a MASK and goggles, if you have them. ANYTHING YOU DO NOT WANT TO BLEACH SHOULD BE COVERED. If you're cleaning while dressed up, an apron is a good idea. The stream/spray nozzle splashes the product and bleaches everything it comes into contact with. You don't want this to get anywhere else but the surface you're cleaning. White spots with pink halos have appeared on the blue pants I was wearing. br>2) DO NOT INHALE and WASH YOUR HANDS AND ANYTHING THE PRODUCT MAY HAVE COME IN CONTACT WITH THOROUGHLY. br>I made a mistake in this final step. I should have known better as someone who has spent a lot of time in chemistry labs. I treated the bottle like any other cleaner, assuming that storing it with the spray nozzle still attached would be no problem. WRONG. "Cap bottle after usage," as stated in the instructions, isn't clear enough. " I mistook this for a command to tighten the nozzle. You must close the door - a vacuum seal - original cap included! Otherwise, as I did and as many others who left negative reviews, if you store it with the spray nozzle still attached, the solution will leak out and ruin all of your cosmetics and toiletries in the bathroom cabinet. It melted the waxed paper covers off my paper boxes, revealing the aluminum sheets that line wet towelettes, and glued the bottoms of the boxes into my white cabinets. I had no idea what had happened until I noticed that the bottom of a brand new product box had been bleached. When I picked it up, the entire bottom fell off. br>br>PEOPLES, this is a very volatile, very powerful bleach! If you treat it as such, cleaning any mold or mildew will be a breeze. I should have checked the MSDS before purchasing this product. It's essentially a concentrated Sodium Hypochlorite solution, also known as highly concentrated Chlorine bleach. It works well and does what it claims, but I would not recommend it unless you are confident in your abilities and have a well-ventilated bathroom (in which case, you probably wouldn't need it). It can cause severe burns if it comes into contact with your skin. If you get it in your eye, it will make you blind. There is almost no way to use this product without releasing tons of toxic chlorine gas into the air, which is extremely harmful to your lungs and can result in permanent damage. If you mix this with an ammonia-based cleaner, you'll get a nasty reaction. You could easily die from the volume of toxic gas emitted by a solvent-based cleaner or many metallic substances. The bottle's instructions say to read the MSDS, but they don't adequately warn you about the dangers of the chemicals involved. The instructions say to let the spray dry on the walls before showering, but they don't say to wash it off carefully. If you use this product, please exercise extreme caution and wear full body PPE, including a mask and eye protection. After allowing it to sit for a few hours (while keeping the room well ventilated and the fan running), thoroughly rinse the area with hot water.
This product is extremely effective at cleaning. It has a lot of positive feedback, which I can see why. It's possible that the packaging issue mentioned in negative reviews stems from the fact that the company is located at a higher elevation. At 6,600 feet above sea level, we are at the highest point on the planet. It's not uncommon for a product to arrive with the container expanded. The condition was not alleviated by opening the valve and relieving the pressure. It continued to expand, overflowing the container, and the product spilled out. We cleaned it up once, and now our laundry room cabinets are ruined because we were gone for four days over Christmas. The overflow is caused by either an increase in elevation or a problem with the product chemical mix. It keeps an effervescent state that leaks out of the container. It will destroy the surface on which it is resting. I'd like to know if anyone else has any ideas about what this is based on.
Do not breathe it in or get it on your clothes. This stuff is fantastic, and it completely restored the environment around our boat. I used a rotary tool with just a cloth attachment to remove the tougher/older mold, but for the more recent and lighter mold, it's enough to spray the stuff on, wait a minute, and then hose it off. When rinsing it off, be cautious because the water that mixes with the substance and splashes back at you will bleach whatever you're wearing. After bleaching my one good shirt, I just wore some old shorts that I didn't care about; if it gets on your skin, it's fine, but you don't want it to linger, so I'd quickly wash my hands. For the past few days, my breathing has been strange, but it is improving. To avoid making the same mistake I did, keep it at a safe distance or wear a mask.
