The finished product is fantastic. Our 7-year-old was in a pull-up. for years, never forcing him to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, never waking him up, and finally deciding that now that he was approaching the age of eight, it was time to wean him off of just pee peeing in diapers. I should mention that both his father and mother struggled with bedwetting until they were well into their adult years, around the age of 13 or so. So, after considering the advice of other reviewers, we decided to give this product a try, and his father slept in the next room for a few weeks to listen for the alarm and assist him to the bathroom. After about 2 weeks, my (now 8-year-old) son began going to the bathroom in the middle of the night on his own, and dad was able to return to his own bed. Our secret, I'm afraid, was placing the Maylem in the proper location on the underwear (as shown in the photo). The closer you can get it to where the PP emerges, the faster it will alert and stop PP from running to the bathroom. Unfortunately, his father did not position himself well the first few nights, and the "wet nights" were most likely due to him. I've included the full chart as well as a picture of where to place the underwear. In the middle of the chart is his birthday (he will be eight years old). This product is highly recommended for children of appropriate age, and it has made a significant difference in our son's life. Since getting the Maylem, I haven't bought any diapers. My son had a lot of fun picking out the Maylem color he wanted and the alarm sound he wanted to hear in the morning. That made it easier for him to transition to waking up in the middle of the night. Wow, we're overjoyed to have received this product and to see how well it's helped our child. A few months ago, it began to work intermittently. I replaced the batteries and it started working again, so I assumed that was the problem; it appeared to be going bad at the time. I'm thinking about repurchasing it, which is why I'm updating my review.

Everything was not working as it should have been. br>br>We came across this monitor while looking for help on the internet, and I'm glad we did. br>br>He felt strange with cords and stuff attached to him the first night he put it on. He was awoken by the alarm while urinating on the second night he wet the bed. and promptly returned to bed, drenched. His brain was simply not alerting him to the fact that he was awake or that he had urine in his bladder. br>br>We explained that, while we were doing everything we could to assist him, he had to do the hard work of forcing himself out of bed and urinating anything left in his bladder, even if he didn't feel or realize the need each time the alarm went off. br>br>At first, he couldn't pee because everything had been released on his mattress while he was sleeping. Then he discovered a small amount of urine in his bladder, which became increasingly difficult to empty as the days passed and he continued to be awoken by the alarm.

He 100% was on board with this and over the next several weeks/months, he went from fully urinating to only having a tiny urination If his underwear isn't completely dry in the morning, he'll have a quarter-sized spot. br>br>After this time, we stopped requiring him to wear both a pullover and a t-shirt. At night, you should only wear your underwear. During that time, he hadn't wet the bed except for a few dribbles in the middle of the night. We encouraged him to keep his spirits up by reminding him that an accident is not a pattern. br>br>It's been over six weeks with NO nocturnal enuresis issues! I can't believe it works, but I'm so grateful that my son found this tool to help! br>br>Be patient with your child and speak openly with him. Ascertain that they understand that this is a collaborative effort and that they should not become discouraged. br>br>The emails from Ubiquitty informing you of what to expect at each stage were incredibly helpful and reassuring. br>br>When we first started, we told my son that there was no guarantee and that if it didn't work out, he would face consequences.
