Questions & Answers

My son wears pull-ups, so I'm guessing this is only for underwear? If that's the case, does he soak the bed every night until he's completely trained?

Despite the fact that the alarm's instructions state that only underwear should be worn, we opted for pullovers. My son wore briefs with the alarm on the underwear for the first week to reduce clean-up time; then he wore a pull-over. up on top of it The alarm continued to function normally, but the goal is to train your child's brain to associate a full bladder with the sensation of being wet so that bed wetting stops (which it will!). ) After we became accustomed to the alarm and routine, we removed the pull-cord. ups, and yes, there may be one or two messes to clean each night until the training begins to bear fruit. We used disposable bed mats to keep the wet bed messes to a minimum at night. But believe me when I say that I was the biggest skeptic of this alarm and the resulting late nights. I had an eight-year-old who had never slept soundly in his life; after eight weeks, he was completely trained and has only had one accident in three months. There will be no more tugging. He gained a lot of self-confidence as a result of the ups and downs!

Has anyone made a comparison between this and the DryBuddyEZ? They both have the same features, but DryBuddyEZ is about a third of the price and has a better rating. Is it possible for you to assist me in purchasing one?

Only the Malem has been my experience. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our son no longer wets the bed, and I don't have to change the sheets on a daily basis! For our family, it was well worth the money.

Will this help my friend's 6-year-old son who is completely potty trained but has such a deep sleeper that he still wears pull-ups at night?

My grandson, too, was potty-trained at a young age and with ease. The nighttime wetting, on the other hand, continued unabated. He's been completely dry since I bought the alarm in October. He's attended a number of sleepovers with no issues. We don't have to worry about him because he's going on a weekend trip with his friends' families. Because my grandson is older than your son, I believe he had an easier time understanding the concept. Because it is a hands-on product, you must be present to assist and encourage him. Personally, I believe that getting him out of the pull-ups is the best option; I've been considering similar products for years but never thought they'd work. We are overjoyed with the results, and my grandson is overjoyed as well. Try it! Building a child's self-esteem for $100 is a small price to pay.

Is it possible to swap out the sensor's clear plastic connector?

Following a visit to our pediatrician, who advised us to do so for the next two years
5/5

OK so. I have a child who has a bed-wetting problem. Please allow me to clarify the wetting issue. I had a problem with bedwetting. I did a lot of research before purchasing this product, and after visiting our pediatrician, who recommended it for a good two years, and then seeing a urologist, who also said it was the best product available, I finally purchased one. This came after I waited for the problem to go away on its own, hoping that my child would eventually outgrow it, but that never happened. I was also apprehensive because my child is an EXTREMELY sound sleeper (a factor that will be discussed later). As a result, I decided to take the risk and pay the $100. It was the best investment I've ever made.
BUT- Something needs to be communicated to other parents. And it's kind of funny, sort of not funny, and I wish some of the other reviewers had brought it up. Conditioning is the key to this product's success. It teaches the child to recognize when their bladder is full and to either hold their urine or wake up to go to the bathroom. As a result of the alarm, the conditioning occurs. Imagine sleeping soundly and peacefully only to be startled awake by a shrill, extremely loud alarm accompanied by vibrations. Instead of peeing, I'm surprised my child didn't start s***ing his pants. The poor kid would be jolted awake from a deep slumber and have the most terrified expression on his face; it was awful. It was excruciating for the first few times. Then, as if by magic, the bedwetting came to an end. Stopped. My child also no longer uses the alarm clock. To summarize, it works by scaring the living daylights out of your child. br>If torturing your child is acceptable to you, I say go for it. The product does a fantastic job! It was well worth the money that this frugal mother paid for it! br>Right now, we're in therapy to help him get over his PTSD. I'm joking, but It's effective; however, you should be aware of the risks.

For ten, this is a lifesaver
5/5

The boy is five years old. Update: We haven not used the alarm for three months and he remains 100% dry! I owe this product a debt of gratitude for restoring his self-esteem and freedom. This is the first summer where he won't have to worry about sleepovers. br>br>Background: My son is almost 11 years old and has never had a dry night except when he was sick and hadn't had food or water in a long time. We've been using Goodnights underwear and liners since he outgrew pull ups, and the liner would be completely soaked through on some nights. He's never gotten out of bed to go to the bathroom on his own. He's not the heaviest of sleepers, but he's definitely heavier than the average. br>br>Last summer, I bought this alarm with the intention of setting it off, but we never did. When the goodnight underwear liners were no longer available earlier this year, we shifted into high gear. We decided to go for it when we were down to one pack of liners. While I slept on the couch, I bought a small twin-size air mattress for him to sleep on in the living room. It was a lot less work than changing the bed sheets! If your child is not bothered, I highly recommend this method. br>br>It was a difficult first week. The alarm went off several times throughout the night, but he was instantly awakened. I assumed he'd soak through everything every time, but he only needed to change his underwear most of the time. He only awoke once a night in the second week. We've now reached the third week, and he's been dry for the entire time. He even returned to his bed a few nights ago and is still completely dry. I'm blown away! To be sure, he'll keep it on for a few weeks. br>br>I was worried that this would be a long and difficult process, but it turned out to be painless. He's ecstatic to go on vacation this summer and not have to worry about getting ready for bed. He'll be able to sleep over now as well. Our lives have been drastically altered as a result of this. This is something I strongly advise you to use!.

After purchasing this Malem alarm, I decided to purchase another one
3/5

This alarm was purchased in 2016, according to Amazon. Let's just say it wasn't my most recent purchase. In late 2019, we decided to switch brands. Our child was a gung-ho kid at first. It was put on every night before bed because it needed to be dry. Initially, this went on for a few weeks. The alarm did occasionally work and wake her up, but it usually did so in a panic, and turning it off in the middle of the night was a challenge. It was a long and winding road. It was sometimes just me who was awakened. It became too uncomfortable to wear after a while. br>br> It was cumbersome to wear on her shirt, and the sensor in her underwear was uncomfortable. She'd try it for a few days every now and then until the annoyance became too much for her. As a result, it's been tucked away in a drawer. Is there anyone interested in purchasing a high-priced Malem alarm clock? It's almost as good as new! br>br>I liked being able to turn it just to vibrate when we were staying at someone else's house. It wasn't easy to get the sounds switched after cracking open the back, but it was doable. able to protect their privacy and allowed them to do so. br>br>However, while I thought this alarm was expensive, it was nothing compared to the next one we purchased. However, we've had a lot more luck with the Therapee alarm system thus far. I went from being wet every night (with the exception of one or two every month) to being dry 7 out of the last 10 days, less than 8 weeks after starting. Each week has seemed to get better and better. In addition, turning off the alarm is a breeze. Usually, my child has pulled the plug in the few seconds it takes me to walk down the hall. We simply plug it back in after she's finished using the restroom. Even in the dark, unplugging and replugging is simple! br>br>After experimenting with Dr. Stephen Hodges (It's No Accident), a Malem alarm, and more time, it appears that Therapee is the one who is giving us dryer nights and less laundry.
