My son was 7 years old at the time and had never slept through the night. He was awoken by the sound/vibration during the first week of using the alarm, but he had already been in an accident. He wasn't waking up in the middle of the night to go, and he was staying dry by week two. It's been four months and there haven't been any mishaps! I was blown away by how effective this product was in assisting my son. EVERYTHING had been tried! I told a friend about this product, and she had the same experience. Good luck
You clip one side to a tshirt, and the sensor has to be right where she'll get wet, so it's right in front of my son's. So, as soon as he gets wet, it'll go off.

If you don't want to read the whole thing, just know that I adore this little gadget and that it works! My son, who is almost seven years old, has been wetting the bed since he was potty trained at the age of three. years- old. I finally talked to his doctor because I was sick of washing his cloth training pants and sheets on a regular basis. single. day. She recommended the alarm, claiming that it can help even the deepest sleepers wake up. br>br>For the first few times, we had him sleep in our room on his old crib mattress so that I could get up and help him. He slept through the alarm the second and third nights (which were actually the first two, but my son was a little too excited and marked the first night off before we actually used the alarm). But as the days went on, he stopped peeing and got up to go to the bathroom as soon as the alarm went off. It was as if it had happened by chance! br>br>The second week was a little more difficult, but I knew it would take at least six weeks and no more than twelve, and as you can see from his chart, we've only had one heavy bed wetting day since then. We just finished week 6, and he asked if he could sleep without an alarm clock last night. I was a little hesitant to let him, but he had a string of dry days this week, so I gave it a shot, and he was fine!br>br>A couple of things I wanted to mention in regards to two negative reviews. One individual expressed concern about the length of the cord. So I put the alarm on my son and took some photos demonstrating that the cord cannot wrap around their neck. If anyone is concerned about the length, simply wrap the arm band around it or have your child wear a night shirt. br>br>The second person appeared to believe the batteries died quickly. It's possible that the device they received was defective, but we've had it for six weeks and I've never had to replace the batteries. The alarm didn't go off a couple of times, causing heavy wetting, but I realized it was because he was laying on his side and the sensor wasn't in the middle of his underwear. The alarm would go off at the first drop of rain as soon as I fixed that problem. br>br>For anyone who thinks attaching the alarm to your child's underwear is intrusive, I just attach it to a clean pair and have him change at night, so I'm not trying to attach it while he's wearing it. It'll be easier to clip it on if he's not wearing his glasses. He did complain about it pinching him a couple of times, so I had to adjust it. But, because my son suffers from Sensory Processing Disorder, I'm amazed that he has consistently worn this alarm, and grateful that it works! br>br>I hope you enjoyed this review and will try it out. It was a miracle for us, and I would recommend it to anyone whose child sleeps so soundly that they can't wake up to use the bathroom.
We used this for my 9-year-old son, and he hasn't had an accident in over four months. This is just a tool (albeit an important one) that we used in a difficult and determined effort. br>br>This is how we did it. br>We waited until we knew we'd be able to spend several weeks with him at home during the night. There will be no overnight stays or babysitters. br>He shares a bunk bed with his younger brother, so we moved his younger brother to another room during the training period, and my spouse and I took turns sleeping in the bottom bunk. When the alarm went off, we immediately got him up, talked to him, and led him to the bathroom, making sure he was fully awake. br>Despite the fact that the alarm is loud and vibrates, he was not awakened. This would not have worked if we hadn't done that part. br>br>We stuck to this plan for about a month, until he was waking up alone in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. We had him wear the alarm for a few more weeks after that, and we slept with a baby monitor so we could hear the alarm go off. He had a few more alarms, but they were all caused by a small amount of urine leaking and waking him up alone. Then we removed the alarm, and he hasn't had an accident since! br>br>We did have a couple of 'false alarms' due to his sweating while he was sleeping. Also, even if they have a minor accident, you must make sure they change their underwear, or else the monitor will sound again when you re-enter the room. It should be attached. br>br>Excellent product, but it is a tool, not a panacea, as I previously stated.
We've used two different types of bedwetting alarms in our house. The first was a little simpler, and we only got a new one because I thought the first one was broken (my husband told me he dropped it in the toilet while taking our son to the bathroom). He is prone to mishaps. After being dry for months, I wet one night and immediately revert to a nightly wetting pattern. We've talked to his pediatrician about it, and he assures us that there's nothing to worry about medically. It's just a matter of neurological maturation, and it'll pass eventually. It can be embarrassing when you're ten and have to put on a pullover in secret at a sleepover. br>br>Here's what I like about this specific alarm: the various possibilities the overall toughness My son was the one who chose the sound/vibration setting and the volume. He chose one that had a beep and a vibration, though there were a few other tones to choose from, as well as the option to use only the sound or only the vibration. There are also a number of volumes to choose from. He picked one that he thought he'd be able to wake up to without being terrified half to death. There is only one volume of the other brand we have: The volume is extremely high. My son, ironically, learned to ignore it. Every night, he's been woken up by this one. In terms of quality, I am confident that I can drop this without it breaking. The wire that connects the two ends of the mechanism, which clips to the shirt and underpants, is long enough to reach even a larger child, but I'm not trying to tuck inches upon inches of excess wire into his pants at night. br>br>Does it work, then? Yes. It took four nights of semi-regular sleep for my son to get to this point. Before he had an 8-hour nap, he was dry (waking up and stopping himself from emptying his bladder when the tiniest bit of wetness was detected), and he only went to the bathroom once during the night. a dry streak in the middle of the night He would go to bed between the hours of 8 p. m. and 8 a. m. 9 p. m. , and 6 a. m. to 7 a. m. : 30 am. He then had one night where he wet slightly at 5 a. m. before returning to his dry streak. Before packing it up, the "instructions" suggest that it be completely dry for two weeks. This advice will undoubtedly be followed. br>br>On the down side, if you're going on a trip or sending your child somewhere overnight, you either skip a night or two and risk regression, or you pack it up and inconvenience your host! Neither of those options, in my opinion, are preferable to washing sheets every day and changing said sheets in the middle of the night. So, why did I only give it four stars? The clip is difficult to understand. It's frustrating to fumble with it in the middle of the night, and my son lacks the coordination to clip it on his own. It works in an odd way. Our other brand, on the other hand, had a habit of sneaking away late at night. This hunk of junk will not be moved! These devices are not cheap, but when it comes to your child's self-esteem, they are well worth it. You're probably not concerned about price because of your self-esteem and the never-ending cycle of sheet washing! It's worth it! We'll definitely keep this in mind, because even after two weeks, an incident could occur that causes regression. I'm thinking of sending it with him to college (joke). Last but not least: br>br> I came across a saddle that was in good condition. During this process, I use a waterproof pad on top of the fitted sheet for extra protection, as well as a waterproof mattress cover underneath. Until he reached the age of five, that is. I forced him to wear a pull-up over his underpants on nights when it was dry. It's well worth the time and effort, and it aids in the establishment of a mini-business. along the way to your objective!.
